No longer exists. Each council runs own scheme called council tax reduction.0

i applied a few weeks ago now for the reduction had a letter back today informing me i am not entitled to any help as im over the £20.12p a week threshold they worked out i am £2.04p over a week. so therefore no entitled to any help. so would i not be entitled to help minus the £2.04p a week im over?
they have also calculated my wifes student grant and student loan but student finance have not yet themselves calculated what she is entitled to:beer: LOVE LIFE PROCEED & PROGRESS0 -
each council run its own council support scheme.
without knowing the details of your scheme, no one would be able to give 100% advice

Are you claiming the student exemption and classed as a single occupier so 25%discount.0

If your wife receives student funding then much of this is included as income together with student loans (whether taken or not) and, if the same as housing benefit, will include your working and child tax credits which I expect add to a fair amount to your income0

It doesn't matter what your wife actually receives. We automatically assume maximum she could receive whether she has claimed it or not.
Theoretically you could have a student who doesn't claim any grant or loans but we would have to treat them as receiving the maximum they could claim. These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.0
