Most underpaid profession?

Most are not in the public sector with the protection that gives them.
What protection is that?what about the reverse? Most overpaid job?! Something you can qualify in fairly easily without the need to be clever and earn a decent wage for not doing much!!????
Please tell me it exists and I'll start a course asap!!
Hard one. I'm gonna go with train drivers. Paid a good salary for what is really quite an easy job. Boring but easy.
Binmen as well seem to be highly paid for what they do.WolfSong2000 wrote: »Don't you believe it! The balance in terms of pay is just majorly out of whack. Nurses are paid a pittance whilst other areas of the NHS (mostly office based) can command huge salaries. I work in procurement and an interim head of a department can command £500-£600 per day. I still don't understand why they can command that much when nurses are paid so little by comparison? Seems completely crazy to me...though may go some way to explaining why the NHS is in the mess it is in - priorities are all screwed up!
The other problem is a numbers game. To give all nurses a pay rise would be extremely costly. Giving a single manager a good salary isn't as noticable. I'm also willing to bet that person on £500-£600 a day is a consultant rather than a salaried member of staff as well. Support departments are also just as important as the front line people.
Seeing as the general census seems to be nurses are the most underpaid profession I'll raise another question. What do people think nurses should be paid? Lets assume a standard nurse with a few years experience.0 -
Putting those cones out on the motorway is the most dangerous job so I guess binman must be right behind it. Never see any women doing that job. I expect the feminists to protest this soon. Rubbish feminism.0

Don't try to twist a dsicussion to your own agenda. If you want to debate an issue, start your own thread.
I'd suggest this post is ignored.0 -

Binmen; I worked in the office off a waste company for a while and saw how hard they all worked. The hours were long and it is a very physically demanding job, Freezing cold in winter, baking in the summer, they often got injuries or heatstroke. Not to mention the abuse they got from the public if a collection was late! Most of them were on the minimum wage which I think is far too low to be paid for clearing up everyone else's rubbish and mess.0

Also anyone whose job it is to run towards danger in order to help others whilst the majority are running away.
My friend is a pediatric nurse, she owns two houses, drives a Merc and works three nights a week- don't be fooled about nurses earning !!!! money!0 -
