ICICI 3 months 0% balance transfer

Hi Guys,

I'm thinking of going for this one, has anyone else used them and are they part of any other big bank?

Cheers

They are in India and communication is difficult. I have a savings account with them paying 6.3% interest and am happy enough with them but others do not like them. For the 3 month 0% offer I am not interested as it would take too long to set up and the 3 months would then probably not be 3 months (more like 2). Search ICICI in the search option at top of page and read the threads about them. As I said I am happy with them.

    Thanks John,

I did have a look at the comments earler re setting up the bank account but I think you could be right that by the time it's set up I will probably have paid it off anyway as I only wanted a short term one.

    Cheers

I would agree that communication has been quite difficult. I also had to chase them initially to set up my account and transfer the money over. There is also no internet banking and the statements don't tend to arrive until 5 days before payment is due.

The offer was good for me as i only needed to transfer a smallish amount which I had planned to pay off in 3 months. However, for longer term balances I would say it's not worth the hassle.

    Hi Guys,

I asked this same question about 2 weeks ago & the general concensus of opinion was that it's not worth the hassle of applying for such a short 0% deal. Several people mentioned problems they had had with ICICI Bank.

I decided not to bother with them & I applied for a Capital One credit card with a 0% BT until May 2008 & a 1.7% fee. I received the paperwork this morning & I have signed & returned it. Hopefully by May 2008 I will have paid off the entire balance & I will be debt free apart from my mortgage.

Saw this article the other day.
ICICI does not subscribe to the banking code.

Is that a good thing or not?!! :D

For what it's worth, I opened a savings account with ICICI and closed it after a couple of months because I never received my login details and could not persuade the unhelpful call centre staff in India to re-send them.

I rate Icesave, which has operated smoothly for 6 months now...

Please can you say where you read or how you found out that ICICI Bank is part of/affiliated with Lloyds TSB? I browse several financial websites & like to read some of the finacial supplements but I have never come across this information at any time.

What is the India Banking Service?

Lloyds TSB in association with ICICI bank provides a range of services for people of Indian origin living in the UK. The India Banking Service is simply two accounts with two banks who work together...
