O/S Daily Thread Monday 29th September

Options
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

JackieO – hope everything went to plan and you’re now in recovery x

Birthday wishes to those celebrating a birthday, hope you have a great day x

Hugs and get well wishes to those that want/need them.

Now light, very foggy here this morning. Hopefully it’ll brighten up later.

DH up and gone to work stupid early. DS1 up and gone to work.

Dinner last night was chicken and bacon kievs, chips, beans and salad, I had jacket potato with tuna mayo and salad. Dinner tonight will be pork chops, mash, veg and gravy.

Weekend was glorious here and really warm especially yesterday, sat outside for quite a while.

I have a few jobs to do today, so will be steadily working my way through them. I also need to do an on-line order so will get that started today.

    Take care x

    Keep safe and well x

    Morning all

Seems cooler here today after yesterday which was glorious it was like a summers day.

Dropped dd home yesterday and she and I had a good tidy round the house, I took my hoover over and went all through and she scrubbed the kitchen and mopped the floors and cleaned the bathroom / loo, it looks and smells so much better and fresher now.

Off to work for me, monday's are always busy days setting up for the week, so at least the day will fly by.

I need to do an online shop tonight as I did not get round to it yesterday and I think its quiche for dinner.

    Have good days all xx
  • Good morning all

TTFTM thank you for starting the thread and hope you and DH are feeling better.

Weather a bit overcast here but promises to get better later so some washing will be done.

Himself wants to turn our mattress this morning, he is convinced there is a lump in it, I hope not because we haven't had it very long.

Off to the upholsterer this morning. I want to have a poufee re-covered in the same fabric as the chairs we have ordered. The chairs and sofa are not expected until early November but we received the fabric on Friday so thought we may as well have this done now.

No shopping required today, but must run the Dyson round.

Jackie hope you are feeling OK, and not too sore, did you enjoy the milkshake?

    Have a good day everyone

    Morning :hello:

I'm really pleased – my leg wasn't happy about all the time just sat in the car the other day, it tightened up and has been really sore, but I managed to walk for a couple of hours yesterday (2 walks, 1 hour each). Plus all the pottering around the harbour, etc.

We went out and decided that 10.30am was far too early for a visit to an ice cream place. But not too early to visit a cider farm and sample some goodies :D I was ready for ice cream after that so we went to a farm, had some yummy ice cream, chatted to the chickens and stroked some pigs :D I had no idea that a piglet will almost pass out with joy if you scratch behind his ears :D Very cute. We decided on pasties for tea so went to the local pasty place. There were a few left so I asked for one, the bloke asked if I could wait nine minutes. Errmmm, but they're right there in front of me...... A few minutes later he went outside, rang a bell (I think it was one of those old school bells!) and yelled “All pasties £1.50”. Bargain, less than half price :D

I'm sat outside with my coffee listening to seagulls :D We're going on a short boat trip to visit Fowey for a couple of hours then staying local this afternoon so I'll visit the shops I didn't manage to get to yesterday.

Hope you are all done and dusted after operation and getting to feeling like yourself.

Had all dds home at weekend and future son in law to overhaul house and garden ready for photos for estate agent today.

Kitchen is so tidy I almost don't recognise it ;)

DH is still felling tired and queasy after chemo on Friday so letting him relax and sleep as much as he needs.

Will do last minute tidy round while he sleeps and then put nice bedding on our SK bed and quick clean and tidy of en suite once he has had a shower and got dressed etc later this morning.

Estate agent arrives at noon and then we need to be in Leeds for treatment around four this afternoon so will try to get any food he can manage into him.

Haunting rightmove to look for a bungalow as the sooner we get sorted out somewhere smaller, on one level and easier to cope with the better.

DD made a few home made ready meals which are in the fridge so that helps quite a bit.

Once photos are taken will make something like omelette for lunch and maybe put a stew on a low cook in oven for tonight.

    Hugs to all

    morning all!

Hope your feeling better soon ttfm and jackieO and thanks for starting the thread.

Feeling a bit more positive today, rest of the paint is here for the front room so fingers crossed going to start on that tomorrow!

Have plenty of os things to do today as now is my time to keep out of the cold and my health takes precedence. So lots of craft time for me.

So apart form sorting things out ion the frontroom, have to take a trip to the bank and order new work cheque books and get work statement, ds2 school lil bro for his appointment, pick up ds2 at 4 and hopefully be home for five to make dinner and mounds of homework and paperwork. All inbetween making sure dad gets to his therapy and back okay. Luckily he is being picked up by the hospital and they drop him so i don't have to go with him. Instead i'm ion call if he needs. Don't mind though, he's a stubborn so and so but hes mine lol

    have a good day all!
