doesnt matter when u paid off a handset the iphones ar eusually at a set price by apple
why would you want to pay 60 a month just for a new phone? What goes around-comes around0 -
... I want to upgrade to an Iphone 6 plus 128gb. ... I like that the 6 plus is lighter than the 4. The screen is much easier to read ..
So I definitely want to ....get the iphone 6 plus. Can't afford to buy it up front. ...
I keep repeating here that IMHO if you can't afford to buy it upfront, then you simply can't afford it at all. If you don't have mere £700 saved, then you must concentrate on saving, not on getting the top of the range extremely expensive luxurious phone.
Buy something cheaper, e.g. 5s/c.
If you really can't survive without this toy, consider getting a CC with 0% on purchases and using it to pay upfront.0 -

you realise that you don't have to follow what your mates have? Most have apple just for this reason, and don't really understand.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

I don't have Iphone because friends have it. I have it because , I've been using it for a long time, it's a good (but expensive ) product with a massive App Store I don't want to have to spend 100's £'s repurchasing apps on android that I purchased over 4 yrs. and I need a bigger phone as my eyesight has deteriorated0 -
The phone is very expensive compared to previous phones you have purchased. nearly £800 - This translates to £33 a month just for the phone. Add a network contract to that and you are looking at over £50 a month.
The contracts prices from the networks will likely drop over time as initial price gouging drops to attract more sales.
Interest Free Credit Card or apple/bank finance will be the best way if you do not want to subscribe to an overprice iphone 6 contract right now.
Additionally if you which to keep your sim only one plan then you'll have to purchase the phone outright.0 -
So I definitely want to keep the £23 pm one plan + get the iphone 6 plus. Can't afford to buy it up front.
Then you are out of luck, you can't keep your old price plan and upgrade. You will have to move to a new price plan, and none have unlimited tethering anymore.
If you want to keep your one Plan sim you will need to find the cash to buy the phone sim free (or finance it by other means). I have the £15 One Plan sim, I bought my new iPhone 6 sim free from Apple to keep my plan. Also can 3 make you come off the one plan if you now go to sim only ie why should I be paying more for 1 One plan if I've paid off both handsets over a year ago. I don't want to lose unlimited tethering if I don't have to . If I lose it to pay less each month on the one that's £36 then I may as well go to a new network . I've never used more than 6gb a month . I anticipate between 10-20gb with a better phone with more space
Any suggestions gratefully received
You won't find an iPhone 6 Plus contract for less than £36 a month on any network (not without paying a significant up front price).
If you sign a new contract you will lose unlimited tethering, it isn't offered on any network anymore.====0 -
Or I ll just wait a few months to see if there's a price drop.
Thanks0 -
I've got 2 x one plan sims, 1 is £24 the other is £36. What I may do is upgrade the £36 one plan to a £38 pm new unlimited internet contract with 2 gb tethering with a iphone 5s 64gb with £9 towards the handset cost. Then sell the 5s for approx £450-500 new sealed & boxed & put the money towards the new iphone 6 plus, so I ll only need to pay £339 on top to buy the 6 plus. Then I ll put my cheaper one plan sim in it
More like £350, your plan fails to take account of the fact that Apple now sell the 5s for £459.
Even if you sell yours as sealed and boxed, no one is going to pay as much or more than the new price direct from Apple.Or I ll just wait a few months to see if there's a price drop.
Thanks
the price won't drop by much until this time next year.====0 -
