Using a mobile phone in the US

Hi All,

I am in need of some advice with regards to mobile phone contracts, specifically use in the US.

My girlfriend is going to the US to work for 2 months and needs the best sim deal for calling within the US and back to the UK

I have looked the the 3 network deal but as far I can see it can't be used for over 1 month in the US without being cut off.

Any ideas of the best deals? Happy to do prepay or even run 2 sim cards if needed. Maybe using a US sim....

Any useful advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks
Tom

Obviously for calling within the US the solution is to buy a local PAYG SIM on arrival. and use it in a spare handset.
Skype over wi-fi is a possible option for calling back to the UK.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
