Hi, My Mum needs a new T.V and would like a modern flat screen nice one. Does anyone know if they still make them with headphone sockets as she often watches the T.V through headphones due to having it really, really loud due to deafness.
I've contacted a couple of places who either dont know what I'm talking about or just say no they dont do them now.
I'm going round places tomorrow in person so I can speak to someone who actually knows what they are on about because I feel I'm getting brushed off over the phone/email.
Has anyone got one? or any suggestions?

Hi, yes I have wireless headphones for the flatscreen TV. They are absolutely fantastic. I am a little hard of hearing following meningitis years ago.
These are wireless headphones (Sony)... But they come in all kinds of brands, they allow ME to listen at MY level, but the tv can be listened to by everyone else ion the room at their volume without the headphones.
And a good thing is, if you need the loo urgently, off you go, you can still hear what's going on!
There is an input socket for audio on all TVs, that's where you connect it up.
Just ask for wireless headphones for use with the TV in any TV shop.
Hope that helps.

Many modern TVs do indeed have headphone sockets but not all so please make sure you check first. Look on the TV yourself if no-one can give you a sensible answer.
Most modern TVs also have audio out sockets - these are marked red and white. However make sure they are audio out and not audio in. This connection is more suitable if there are others who also want to watch the TV at the same time as the headphone socket will cut off the TV volume whilst the audio out does not.0 -
Many TVs still have a Scart socket and that will include L + R audio output pins. You could use a Headphone Amplifier HPA01 to connect to the Scart or phono sockets. The HPA01 can be connected to wired headphones or to the transmitter for BlueTooth headphones. This method will NOT mute the normal TV audio (but using a headphone socket on the TV usually will).0

ALL the "modern" TVs I've had- use of the headphone socket mutes the TV speakers - I have used a SCART adapter to provide analog sound output to a stereo amp. -then I did have to mute the TV speakers as the sound was very slightly out of phase resulting in echoing.0
