Brogden's Debt Disaster & Self Managed DMP!

It is very still, very grey, a slight drizzle but I am hoping this is one of those cloudy starts to a nice day as I have a long list of garden tasks to complete.......back to the land of make-believe tomorrow (work)
!!
The month end passed and I didn't go online to up my pension contribution which I have to do by the last day of the month. So......that means just about £130 tax and NI saved in April. I dithered and procrastinated as I have two more payments of £500 to make on my Hellifax debt with Carboot...........and..........I had promised everybody a new fridge, having replaced some kitchen units with smaller ones to accommodate what we wanted......plastered.......tiled.......papered........painted.....I had to complete the job didn't I?
So......she is here.....her name is Hotpoint and she is absolutely beautiful!! There is so much room and my mind is overflowing with the MSE possibilities she brings to me......batch cooking and freezing which I have never done before
. Mrs B has spent the whole weekend rolling her eyes and criticising all of my ideas, needless to say
.
On the work front......Mrs B is now carrying on although reducing her hours. She didn't come completely clean but she got upset about leaving her friends and unbelievably she has become a sort of informal ring leader and friend to all. It is strange how somebody can be such a motivator and inspiration at work and the opposite at home (who said that?)
Right.......with the whip across my back I will enter the garden and get some sorting out done.
Enjoy the bank holiday everybody.

Have a good BH Monday my dear. It was beautiful here today until 3pm & then the thunder, lightning & rain hit! I popped in for a coffee, having earned it by walking 10kms and the rain stopped. So I finished my walk, 12kms in total, just a little damp but feeling virtuous

You have been busy Broggers - well done on all the DIY. Did Creda and Candy get replaced too? Sounds like your appliances wanted to stay together in life and when departed, but a large expense
Can you increase you pension any month of the year or only at the end of each tax year in time for the new? I am going to be doubling what I put into mine I think (still not huge in the scheme of things), but works out to about one third of surplus income on an average month so will be split by pension/mortgage OP/savings I can access.
Hope outdoors dries up quick - dry as a bone here, that means I need to put the kettle on and sit outside soaking up the rays :rotfl:Back on the DFW Wagon:
CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019

Morning brogs,
We have sunshine too, very rare on a bank holiday! I have tipped my oh out of bed so I can strip....and wash the bedding and get it line dried....nothing like a freshly laundered air dried bed to dive into before back to the grind for us all tomorrow.
Have also put my tray of runner bean seedlings out on the table and there little heads are bobbing up through the soil. Don't you just love spring!
Hope you have a good day and enjoy a cold beer from your new fridge later..

Hello Ali x
Just breaking now for scotch eggs and granary bread.
Candy and Creda were replaced and I didn't report it in. The TD (that's an Ali-ism!)I got off Gumtree......I have never taken tumble dryers that seriously so its only a little one that can be moved around. The washer is once again Hotpoint but that is a serious item. I think I may be considered a bit sad for the satisfaction I get from some things but the washer and the fridge really do help my happiness level :rotfl:!!
So it's......new washer / fridge / TD / microwave (Mickey as they've always been known here) and it was a new oven last Summer  Only the dishwasher has been constant. It has a crack in the fascia at the top but that's due to the DD's doing exercises on it  !!
Pensions..........the contribution can be changed monthly and my lack of a positive decision is no big deal. Basically I have ended up making a very limp start to the new tax year but you can see I am spinning various plates!!
Enjoy your day - hols are brill but there is something to be said for being at home too!!
