  • At the end of the day people who answer the calls can only do so much you cannot expect them to collect on a day they dont do collections or dont have a date available. And with the timeslot you had the option to pay extra to narrow it down for delivery as stated so there is no point complaining about having to stay at home because you where to cheap to pay for it at a certain time. Im sure they will do what they can to resolve it but if your still not happy post again on social media as companies tend to pay a bit more attention then.
  • Littlestars, when I worked in a call centre and we got an unhappy supporter (it was a charity) on the phone they were either put straight through to a manager or promised a call back - neither of which happened in the first instance when they couldn't work out the gift vouchers.

Twitter was my first port of call and this did remedy in the social media team responding - I think it's a shame they only react with urgency when someone complains on social media rather than directly to the company's main hotline.

Have you asked for a call back from a manager, and what more do you reasonably expect them to do?
  • I just got an email from the social media manager - looks like they do work weekends - asking for my order number so she can 'look into it'.

I got several callbacks tomtontom but only after I complained on Twitter.
  • Unfortunately,Velvet glove, you won't receive much sympathy on here complaining about JL......

There are a number of posters who, while they might not work for John Lewis, are always keen to blame the customer rather than accept that any retailer could provide a better service.

A you are in a wheelchair and can't get to deliveries to check labels it wouldn't be unreasonable to ask the driver to check the labels with you before leaving in future though to avoid these kind of problems.

If someone posted a thread on here saying that they were in a wheelchair and had asked a delivery driver to open some boxes for them so they could check the content, there would be a thread full of replies saying how the driver couldn't possibly do that as they work to tight timescales, they might injure themselves, they are a delivery driver not package opener, the poster should get someone else to do it, etc etc.
