Hi
Has anyone tried or does anyone if you can negotiate with RBS to extend a 0% interest rate on a credit card? Mine has just expired in mid September and I was wanting to use a credit card but dont have enough time to "tart around" for a new 0% interest card before I need to use a card for my purchase. Any information/advice is much apprenciated.

Doesn't hurt to ask, but it's unlikely.Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.

As it's their business, not hobby, how likely is it that they release you from the trap?:think:0 -
That's exactly what they hoped for when setting up the trap by offering you 0% - that you can't pay the balance off when 0% expires.

I think you've misunderstood. The Op already has a 0% card.Hope over Fear. #VoteYes0 -
Negotiation is a two way thing, what is in it for Nat West?0

Unlikely they'll agree to extend it.
You say you have left it too late to get a new card now but have you actually worked out the likely interest cost of your purchase, even if it takes you a couple of weeks for the balance transfer to go through (assuming you apply for a new 0% card today).
Is the interest really going to be a significant amount?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

This seems like the most logical course of action. Let's say your current card has the limit you need to spend available, which you indicate that it would do. Therefore, apply for a balance transfer card today, assuming you get approved, you should receive your card and online card access within a week to ten days in most cases. Even if your statement date for the existing card is next week, you'll have plenty of time to get the balance transfer through before the payment due date for the existing card. There will be a small BT fee, but it's cheaper than the interest charged on the card if you let it roll over for the next few months.
The only situation where this doesn't work is if when you said "don't have time to tart around" means that you can't be bothered to do a little legwork. If that's the case, I see the odds of getting your existing 0% extended around the same as the interest rate you are looking for. I just don't see RBS having any reason to extend it.DFW - DEBT FREEEEEE!

Hasn't RBS and Natwest stopped offering 0% deals?
This MSE article specifically mentions they've stopped offering them to new customers. I assume this meant that current deals would continue, as they have to, but no new 0% offers would be made to current customers.0
