There was an interesting article in the Guardian recently regarding flight delay compensation.

I am about to claim for a 4 hour delay Manchester to Salzburg 3 weeks ago, and have read the threads on MSE. There is a form mentioned in one of the comments addended to the Guardian article, an official EU form, which can be used, I suspect, in place of the sample letter detailed on this site.

The form is here:
http://ec.europa.eu/transport/themes/passengers/air/doc/complain_form/eu_complaint_form_en.pdf

Accessed via this link:
http://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/travel/passenger-rights/air/index_en.htm

My query is : has any one used this form in place of a letter because it seems easier than writing a letter and may carry more weight being a "official" document?
