EU Compensation form

There was an interesting article in the Guardian recently regarding flight delay compensation.

I am about to claim for a 4 hour delay Manchester to Salzburg 3 weeks ago, and have read the threads on MSE. There is a form mentioned in one of the comments addended to the Guardian article, an official EU form, which can be used, I suspect, in place of the sample letter detailed on this site.

My query is : has any one used this form in place of a letter because it seems easier than writing a letter and may carry more weight being a "official" document?

It won't make the slightest difference to the airline's response, in my view.

Yes, it is probably fractionally easier but, in the scheme of things (making a claim yourself), not a major matter - one way or the other.

Yeah - and if you think writing a letter is a bit tricky, it gets way harder than that ...
