Phones4u help - repair prob

Hi everyone,

Apologies if a similar question has been asked.

Phone went into phone4u to be sent off for repair on Friday 12th Sept, company went into admin on Sunday 14th. Have rung repairs, no record of phone with them so phone must still be in store, stores not opening, so in the meantime i'm left still paying £37 a month for a contract that I have no phone for.

After ringing Vodafone last week they have given me a loan phone but it's the oldest nokia going and only has phone and text on it, no internet, apps etc.

A 'capture form' has been completed over the phone on Wednesday with phones4u.

How long am I expected to continue to pay £37 a month for just phone and text messages on a crap phone?

My local phones4u was in our currys store, someone has been in and cleared the phones from the shelves so where is my phone!

How long before I get my phone back?

Feel like i'm banging my head against a brick wall.

Until the contract reaches it's minimum term, you can then give notice and cancel

How long is a piece of string, it's going to be pure guesswork.
It's not just about the money
  • I only took contract out in January, there must be some sort of legal protection for the consumer that if something like this happens we have a legal right to cancel. what if I shouldn't get my phone returned, i'm still expected to pay £37 a month when I have no phone?.

The contract is for the airtime, the phone comes free and is yours to do with as you please.
Whilst it's missing it is nothing to do with the network which is who you are paying.
If it fails to turn up you will be able to claim for the value of a replacement from PWC, although chances of full refund unlikely.
All you can do at this stage is hope it turns up.

Surely this is theft pure and simple!
Phones4u not its suppliers own the handset, the network and/or the OP own it.
  • sorry if i'm being thick, who is PWC?

Price Waterhouse Coopers - they are the appointed administrators.

    Meant to be:
Phones4u nor its suppliers own the handset, the network and/or the OP own it.

It's nothing to do with the network, it was given by Phones4u to the customer as a gift for taking out the contract.
