I'm not being ungrateful. I am just stating a fact. It's better to have comps on the board that are past their sell-by-date than have them removed.
We all make mistakes. It's not a problem.

What Sax said. That's all really. Anyone kvetching should maybe give up some of their spare time to do a thankless job. No? Thought not. So give it a rest with the should haves, should nots, he said, she said waah waah stuff - until it's YOU doing the bg's job for free. Sheesh.

Edited to add - if you don't like the rules it's very clear where the door is. Personally I like swearing and very little shocks me but if it ain't allowed then tough. Mumsnet lets you swear. Bit short on comps though.:rotfl:

a thankless job? there are many jobs out there that are thankless, nursing, healthcare assistant, lollipop lady! BG ain't one of them. This constant fawning makes my skin crawl.

I just want comps to be left on the board whilst still active, that's all.
Nothing more, nothing less.

I think lollipop 'people' are actual paid employees. That aside they do a marvellous job! (without constant reassurance and 'thumbs up')

Oops sorry I never meant the question to get such a bad response.
I wasn't having a go at any individual I was just curious to know why all of a sudden every competition for that day had moved into GO. I understand the Guides have other lives besides MSE however this was (as far as I can remember) the first time for a long time ALL competitions ending that day had been moved.
I like others do enter comps around the day they finish and if I miss the cut off date then so be it, that's my fault.

I've suggested before if a comp finishes before noon then make the end date the previous day.

I started using the boards in 2006 and comping in 2007 believe me the bg's don't deserve the crap they get, I've seen many a time them driven to tears, they do this for free and deserve to be cut some slack, that aint fawning that's telling it as it is. they are human have lives, families, jobs etc and use their spare time to help us have a comps board that runs as smooth as it does.

It's by far the best comps portal in this country.

Comping by end date is a minefield, Especially on the actual close date, why waste hours entering comps that might have already closed? That's just wasted time and energy. How on earth do you do it on end of month?

Why the Bg's do it is beyond me, I love this board but would never put myself in the position they constantly find themselves in, to hear of threats, undermining and ridiculing is quite sad.

Like I said, I just want comps on the board until they expire.
How an individual chooses to comp is up to them. Personally end date comping has always suited my busy lifestyle.

If you have a problem, organise (text removed by MSE Forum Team) and comp earlier. Simples.

The 0.01% complaining are in the minority. The other hundreds of people winning lots of prizes and using the boards nicely and being polite to everyone......

Be grateful the competitions are posted at all to be moved around, I've won over £1200 worth of stuff this month thanks to people. I couldn't care less what gets moved and when.
