new safety valve

My gas boiler has sprung a leak.
The fault has been diagnosed by a contractor as a blown safety valve.
I've been quoted a replacement to be fitted for £146 + VAT.
Does this seem reasonable?
Thanks

Just found this helpful link - it appears to be a reasonable price...

Next question - would it be sensible/cheaper to get the boiler serviced at the same time it is being repaired?0

Depending on what sort of valve and where it's situated it's difficult to know whether that's a good price or not.
I had my main pressurised system safety valve replaced last year by a local plumber (Ely, Cambridgeshire) at a cost of £68 including the supply of the valve.
The price of a basic 3-bar relief valve is about £12-£25Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0
