I have a Ferrolli Combi boiler - not had any problems with the Thermostatic Panel Shower. Indeed I've just recently had it changed.

Had a problem with switching the water off, firstly with the body jets, then the top spray.
Replaced it with a 'Crystal' unit from Better Bathrooms - gives thee water outlets - body spray jets, overhead star, and flexible hand-held wand.

Thanks no1Catman. What's the size of your boiler?

I've seen the below which goign through miras online system says it works perfectly for combi-boilers....

We did a Adept BIR a few weeks ago on a older Vokera combi 24KW. Around 8l a minute and worked fine

You need to use a flow cup to accuratly measure mixed flow . Most of the Miras now work on tank pressure and still give a reasonable flow, given that you have mains pressure and a reasonable flow most showers on the market will be fine

Don't know off-hand the 'size' of the combi - but it powers the C/H for a semi-detached house.

Ours is a Bristan and seems to work very well. It actually has the temperatures written on the temperature knob, and a separate flow control so it is easy to set for each user.

Thanks Lstar. Have see a lot of nice Bristan stuff but also noticed some of their older stuff has deteriorated, lettering coming off taps etc?!
  • Just a quickie to say that Grohe stuff is excellent quality. We have a thermostatic shower valve/bath filler, and shower system, and have been very pleased. Good heavy brassware.

Fair enough. Ours is only 6 months old so no problems like that yet. :D

Another feature I like because we have a little one in the family, the temperature know stops at 38c and requires and extra button press to make it go beyond. It's a nice little safety feature to stop young people getting in 'hot water' (sorry:o)

That's helpful, thanks Mrs Chaucer. I often notice it's Grohe stuff in nicer hotels and there must be a good reason for that!

Here's hoping this doesn't happen to yours and is just a 'twice off'! That safety method sounds good. Ours will be for our en suite so no plans for my children to use it! :)
