Better yet get a Toyota Auris, take off the Toyota bade and replace with the BMW badges and with a 116d at the back...doubt the Mrs would realise the difference!0 -

Conversely...a BMW with a Toyota badge!
Now that's perhaps the most anti-poser thing I have ever seen0 -

If i was the OP I would just end the thread by saying that they have bought a BMW already, possibly to add to the other imaginary car they have. Never letting on that in fact they have kept their cr*ppy car and just live in a fantasy land.
Not sure that has ever happened on here before0 -
OP is living in exactly the word that describes his forum member name "fantasyvn land"
Ironically if he and his wife do end up purchasing an older 116d SE, the wife won't receive any of the "wow looks" she craves for...or maybe she will by other snobbish ladies who couldn't tell the difference between a Yaris and a Lexus0 -
Maybe she likes rwd....0

Honestly? You would sacrifice your families comfort for the most basic entry level BMW simply because your wife wants a BMW for its name?
OP get real and get something you can afforddarkmatter101 wrote: »The only thing worse the OP could do is getting out a loan for a entry level poverty spec BMW to please the wife.darkmatter101 wrote: »OP is living in exactly the word that describes his forum member name "fantasyvn land"

What A condescending r sole you really are
you know absolutely nothing about the original poster his wife or his finances and you feel comfortable coming on here and posting your self opinionated drivel0 -

I don't think it's an affordability issue - nothing with wanting something under 5 years old. If he was buying it cheap for the badge he could get a 10 year old one.
Now, as a choice of family car I'd put the 3/5 series quite far down the list, and suggest the OP has a look at a range of cars - You'll get more Insignia for the money and it'll be more practical, or most other estates, but his mrs wants a BMW for some reason so we've stuck to those requirements. Since it needs to be an auto it's maybe no that bad an idea - BMW autos don't seem to be as dreadful as others can be.0 -

But it's not just his opinion. All his mates on the M3 forum agree that anything less than a 6 cyl is pants and you're better off buying a Gonow :beer:0 -
