Just like any other task that you need to carry out each day, not giving it enough time and proper planning brings it to a disaster. What you can do avoid missing out on things you need to do and getting frustrated is to slowly pack things ahead of time, and make a list of what you need packed right away and what can wait till a few days before moving day.More so, avoid being disturbed by phone calls or unnecessary visits when loading and unloading large furniture and appliances giving prior notice at work of your planned activity.
And if your budget will allow it, you might want to invest in moving boxes as well. You'll never know when you might have to use them in the future. Besides, those thin product boxes that students typically use when moving may not be a safe option for you.
If a team of movers is hired, you can make their jobs easier by labelling your boxes clearly as well as where they should be put in the new property. This will ensure that no box or item will be missing and out of place. It will also help you avoid having to move those boxes on your own to the right place when you begin unpacking and arranging the new place.
You can also save box spaces by clearing things out when you're not in a rush. A week or two before moving day is a good time for you to sort out your stuff - which ones to throw in the bin, which ones to bring, and which ones to donate or give to friends/relatives. If there are damaged things that you think are irreparable, be hard on yourself and don't try to bring it over to your new home assuming you can still do something to fix it.0 -
When you pack boxes, highlight the boxes that need emptying first. As if you hire or buy boxes, they look the same. Either writing in a different colour pen - red = important or write open first on them. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Moving and packing all your biggest items is the easy part... its all the little stuff in your cupboards and drawers that takes forever to gather up and get packed, so allow plenty of time for this!0

I know lots of people swear by removals companies but I just can't justify the money when I can hire a luton van for less than £100 and have plenty of friends and relatives who are helping on the day. This is just my opinion I know it will be a day of hard work but we will be glad afterwards that we've saved ourselves at least a few hundred quid.0
