some months ago HYC phoned me asking if I've have ever had PPI a insisted I never had But they offered to look to it for me so to get rid of them I gave them some details, weeks passed and I got a letter from my bank saying they had received A letter saying HYC had requested information saying they had been instructed to act on my behalf, then some days later a letter from HYC saying they had started processing my claim but they were aware the claim has been started with another claims management company, and would I sign the letter below to confirm them my wish for HYC to be the sole agent in this purpose. I never signed this and still have the letter.they are now requesting 20% of my refund,I only ever agreed for them to look into it not to process any claim.what can I do to stop this harassment.I have never signed any agreement with any claims management company.0

Ask them to provide a contact with a signature (it must be a signed one on paper) that says you agree to have them as your representative. If they cannot provide that, report them to the Legal Ombudsman
Did you use a claims firm at all?Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Regulation is stricter now, but not to the extent of allowing anyone who agrees a contract to simply refuse to pay..
However, if the Claims Company has no "wet" signature on a contract, it will be difficult for them to enforce it.Terrymclkidd wrote: »they were aware the claim has been started with another claims management company

I only recall speaking with one claim company via phone, never signed any paperwork confirming them to act on my behalf.0
