Carolyn Barr from Glasgow is one of the many MoneySavers who've been in touch. Her son has just gone to university and she took advantage of the deal to get him set up.

She says: "Thanks to the link in your email last week, I have bagged 12 free pizzas so far and still have some codes left to print. We bought my son a mini freezer last weekend to keep in his student accommodation, which we filled with the pizzas before driving to deposit the appliance with its contents inside!"

Have to be a bit careful with that...most student digs have terms against keeping such things in your room...and it can invalidate student insurance iirc :)

Are the pizzas any good, though? Have to say the TV adverts put me off them.

I posted this on grabbit and it got moved to shopping
  • probably because MSE want to take the credit for finding it as the article says "Dr Oetker pizza glitch that gave buyers of a £1.50 frozen pizza unlimited free pizza was found by MSE's Charlotte Burns – aka Deals Hunter"

I think this is why people are not posting so many deals any more because MSE will probably steal your thunder by claiming it's their find.

New rule it seems. Grabbit's not allowed on grabbits, but news stories are.

Which is what some people feared would happen when the Deals Hunter blog thing was launched.

Must admit, I'm spending more time at Hot Deals than I am on here. That was never the case until recently.
  • agree with other posters this is not a grabbit
  • I am possibly the only one but ... way back, everything was on grabbit. Now I can't find anything and no idea where the good Tesco things have gone.... until they go on gone but not forgotten.

Love this site but have limited time and I find it really difficult to find where stuff is these days.

Having said that... wouldn't be without it and PLEASE could you let me know what i'm missing and where it is

I agree with the comments so far - according to the story. the deal was reported in the weekly e-mail, but I don't subscribe (enough in the inbox as it is :) ) so I don't know when that was. The first I knew of the deal was when, by luck, I spotted claire21's post on the grabbit board (before it got moved to the shopping board).

I've previously posted grabbits which have pretty rapidly been moved to shopping. But aren't all grabbits shopping? Otherwise they'd be freebies wouldn't they? So what exactly are the criteria for a grabbit? IMO they're very limited time offers or glitches. With both, as time is limited, surely it makes more sense for all to be able to find them quickly and as lucys mum has pointed out it can be really difficult to find these offers if they're spread all over the site.

In the meantime, I'd love someone to clarify the definition of a grabbit. Oh, and I agree, a news article is not a grabbit!

personally I think the Grabbit board as a separate entity should be done away with. IMO it doesn't really work as all sorts of posts get put here, whether time limited or not, so it defeats the object.

Then, like HUKD (which is much, much easier to follow!) have the shopping board/s divided into sections - groceries, entertainment, home etc etc - for posting deals and offers so that the right deals go in the right section and everybody knows where they are at!

I spend much more time on HUKD nowadays as I don't like the way MSE takes credit for finders deals themselves, and secondly the separate grabbit board as a concept is no longer relevant IMHO.
