There are machines at the entrance to stations and on trams and buses which stamp the date and time on tickets. Some tickets are supplied ready stamped but if not you need to use the machine to validate the ticket the first time you use it.
There are no ticket barriers and you only need to show your ticket if you get asked by inspectors, which is not that often.
At the airport you can buy tickets from real people at a counter if you don't want to battle with a machine.0 -
Good point, and well worth stressing. Your ticket isn't normally valid until you've stamped it in the stamping machines.
