Has any1 tried this out, says on their website you can have your choice of gold numbers when you ring up to order a sim. If they are REAL gold numbers you could make a fortune flogging them on ebay??

It depends what you mean; maybe there's just a choice from a list. Do you want the number equivalents of the letters of your name or something easy to remember?

And will everyone want the same? Will they be collectable like car number plates, or are they already? - sorry for my ignorance; it sounds overrated to me.

A friend got 12112x years ago and they said they wanted it back as it was issued by mistake.

looking at the terms and conditions:-

2.3 We will issue a SIM card to you. If you lose the SIM card or it is stolen or damaged, you may call the Customer Service Centre (Lost and Stolen Department) on 0845 612 4502 for a new one. We will charge you for a replacement SIM card. We own the SIM card and it remains our property at all times. You can only use our SIM card to obtain the Services from us.

2.4 We reserve the right to change a SIM card’s telephone number. We will try to give you 30 days' prior written notice. We will inform you of the reason for the change.

so I expect as the sim card is registered to you that they would not allow you to "sell it on" to someone else.

    so no ebay option !!

    It says this though:

    Change of ownership. £10
easyMobile charges this fee to cover the expenses that we will have, if you want to change the ownership of your account. The fee is due to manual work we need to make in order to change the owner.

However, taking a look at the numbers they look pretty pants for £10! on the signup page you have to keep pressing new list and it provides new numbers you could choose

I didn't want the number for myself, just to sell them on ebay.

sold an 008 007 one for £226 last month!

I assume that they cannot, by law, stop you transferring the number to another network, can they?

As far as I'm aware they can't stop you from porting the number providing your outside any contractual obligations.

Not sure. They may do it for nothing as the four main networks do but it is entirely up to them but I think if they do charge it's generally around £30 or less.

is picking the number part of the sign up process with them or is it something which is allocated when you order automatically?
