Blue Badge holder and CPC Notice

Hi I am a Blue Badge holder and recently received a Contractual Parking Charge notice. Does anyone know if that makes a difference and should I send a copy of my Blue Badge with the appeal against charge? It is a lot of money £60 if we pay within 14 days and then goes up to £100.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

We need a little more information please.
Whatever you say, do not identify who was driver in response to questions.
Was car parked in disabled bay?
Were you displaying your valid blue badge?
Why is the reason for the PCN?
Have you received a NTk through the post or has the driver received a windscreen ticket?
Which ppc is it?
Was the event in eg a supermarket car park/retail park?
If so have you complained in store?
When didyou get NtD/NTK?
Ultimately you should win this on the same basic points as everyone else, but there is an extra EA2010 issue here.
In the meanwhile have a read of the newbie thread (see my signature) which talks you through the process. At this stage focus on posts 1-3 only.Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Click on words Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Newbie thread is the first post. Blue New Thread button is just above it to left.0 -
The driver was my husband and the ticket was sent to me via ANPR as I am the registered keeper. We received a NTK, on Monday 22 of September and the "offence" happened on 9th September in Staples car park in High Wycombe. My husband had dropped me off for my daughters graduation earlier as he had some errands to run. He returned came back to pick me up and parked in Staples as we needed printer ink and some other supplies. We have parked there before and know now that the parking time had been reduced it used to be 2 hours now apparently only 1. At this present time as I have had a bad pain this is the first time I have had to be able to deal with this so, not complained to staples as of yet.

Is this an overstay, double dipping, or left site charge? You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

It was an over stay... I can't find template letter to send to land owner.. I am guessing because it was graduation week and Staples is just across the road from university that this is why the stay times where changed.. I do know as we shop in wycombe quite a lot and always use staples to get our printer ink etc that the time used to be 2 hrs

Template complaints to send to landowners would be in 'Successful Complaints about PPCs' but don't expect to find one for Staples. Other retailers galore are shown in links there though - you could copy a complaint letter in one of the links & change the retailer to Staples. The sticky thread in question is one of those collated by Crabman near the top ('parking stickies').
Which PPC is it?
A disabled person is entitled to a reasonable adjustment of parking time, in law (the Equality Act 2010).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

But is it reasonable to use a firm's car park whilst one is attending a graduation ceremony elsewhere, even if you are disabled?
I think that it would be dishonest to raise this, especially as the fee is disproportionate to the loss, and the paperwork/signs may be non-compliant.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

We did use the store.. My husband parked there used the store he did not just park there and wait for me. He dropped me off and then went to do what he had to do elsewhere. He came back used the store and waited as he believed that he had 2 hrs and there was nowhere else to park and wait as even the road outside was parked on both sides.. Had we not used the store then I would just accept it all.

I am not against you, I am merely stating that using the Equality Act as an excuse is bad form in the circumstance you describe, and that CM was wrong to mention it.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
