EE Sharer sims

I saw this on Hot UK deals last weekend
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/ee-sharer-sim-only-6pm-12mths-when-bought-with-any-iphone-6-2004675
My daughter wants a new iphone 6 for her birthday. Currently all 4 of us are on £15 a month deals with 3. So I checked with EE on the phone and was told yes I could add another 3 lines plus a mobile data sim.
I ordered the iphone 6 on a pay monthly deal at £53.99 including 20gb data unlimited minutes and unlimited texts. I phoned EE tonight to now be told the maximum number of sims I can have is 2. I have phoned twice and been given the same story. Has anyone any advice? Who is it best to discuss this with at EE?
Thanks

Martin

Ask them to explain why it is 2.
On the website they say very clearly: "Share a 4GEE Plan with up to four other people", and they don't mention any personal restrictions on the number of sims.

In the terms and conditions I also don't see anything allowing them to limit the number of sims.
  • Thanks for the link to the terms and conditions. I will phone them tomorrow during the day as was an overseas call centre for my second call this evening.

Connection is subject to status and the limit you can currently have on the account is 2 lines. This means your internal rating is usually "Good" or lower (They have 9 internal ratings - anything "Above Average" and upwards normally allows 5 lines.
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

This limit typically is for number of contracts. This is understandable, because the bigger the number of lines=contracts, the greater the risk.
In this case it is one contract and the number of lines doesn't increase the risk. What you say sounds just like a formal excuse as it's not in EE's interests to allow 4 people to share unlimited allowances even if they cost £51.

It's like selling a family travel insurance and then saying that it is 'subject to status' and covers only 2 members.

The problem I have with that is I specifically called them to ask them before I took out the iphone contract if I could have all the extra lines and they told me I could and now that I have the phone they tell me I can only have 2 sims.

This is just yet another proof that you can never believe a word said by a sales person or even by a CS agent. Every important bit has to be in writing or recorded, and even this will help to only to cancel the missold contract, not to enforce it.
