Corban Direct - Dont refund money

My experience is the same as many other posters here, VERY BAD! STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS! We ordered a bed from these guys on 25 Aug and delivery should have been within a few days. After a week I emailed them to chase the order but got no response. After another day I called them and was told that it was because their supplier had none in stock. They said they would chase the supplier and call me back that afternoon. I didn't receive a call back. I called them again the following day (09 Sep) and said to just cancel the order, they said a refund would be in my acc/ within 3-5 working days. The following week on the 16 Sep still no money so chased again. They said the refund hadnt been processed but they would do it that day, another 3-5 working days to wait. Today (24 Sep) checked and guess what...still no money! Shocking company. Very very poor customer service and very dodgy practices! STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS!

This is EXACTLY the same that is happening to me.
Ordered a bed, they changed delivery dates, the bed never came, more promised delivery dates came and went, I cancelled, the money would be refunded in 3-5 working days, it wasnt, I called them, a "Mistake" so they would issue the refund, 3-5 working days, was it there? no, I rang them, it hadnt been processed again, apologies, 3-5 working days..............
I feel like driving down there to say "hello"....0 -
Hi Zingy,
I have started posting all my interactions with Corban Direct on twitter. I would recommend you do the same. Use both @corbandirect and #corbandirect. They respond because its public!
cheers0 -

I'm having the same issues with Direct Bedroom - missed delivery/delivery to wrong address/missed pick-up dates for damaged items. Just sent a complaint.
I will try Twitter too, but I just searched for @ & #corbandirect (and directbedroom) but couldn't see any complaints only their 'adverts'. I'm not a Twitter expert - so any advice? What am I doing wrong?0 -
I think you need to search just using corbandirect without any # or @.
But when you post you need to use #corbandirect and @corbandirect.
Hope that makes sense.

They've now refunded me after my twitter bombardment. I tweeted every time they failed to meet a promise or I didn't get the money after they said I would.
Good luck all 😊0 -
Like others on here I made the HUGE mistake of ordering a bed from them. The girl who answered the phone was not the brightest of people which should have alerted me. They promised a day for delivery, took my money at once. And yes, I wasted a day's annual leave only to find no delivery. When I at last got through next morning they said it had been booked for the friday, not wednesday. Not so! Against my better judgement I agreed to free delivery on saturday and - yes- you guessed it, no delivery. On monday morning it took me even longer to get through to them (I wonder why?!!) to be told that a refund would be paid into my account. That was in august and I am still waiting.
The girl on the switchboard was the same one who emailed me apologies - no manager, even though I asked for the manager. I've rang again, of course, only to be told that they 'can't understand why my refund was not processed'. How do these telephone people live with themselves? They MUST know that it's a big fat lie.
I've now contacted Chester Trading Standards about them. And am following the advice on here re writing to them on Twitter.
These are horrible, horrible people. I wish I'd looked up reviews about them first. TrustPilot reviews say it all, really. I'm also going to go onto Amazon and put my story on there and I advise everyone to contact Trading Standards about them. By the way - their address is appropriate - CROOKS Lane, Chester0 -
I tried the Twitter idea, as suggested by Dvillaret and got a reply! It said someone would ring me today and they did!
I asked for my refund and he (Tim Sewell, Customer Service Manager) said he'd put it through there and then & I should get it in 2/3 days. He confirmed details and apology by email. I'll post again whether or not I get the refund.
The damaged and incomplete goods were picked up just before he rang (pot luck that I was in as they didn't tell me the courier was coming!).
I ordered from Direct Bedroom but they are clearly Corban Direct (per credit card statement and foot of emailed order acknowledgement - nothing on website) even though the address is different.
I have complained to Chester Trading Standards as suggested by Jonty123 and I've got the form from my credit card company for a Section 75 Consumer Credit Act claim if necessary. I'll have to write Section 75 on it as they like to pretend it doesn't exist!0 -
DONT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! Placed an order for a mattress on 29/08/2014. By credit card. Canceled order 06/09/2014 as no delivery date could be given. After 9 emails 4 phone calls promised 4 times that money had been refunded, and would be back into my account in 3 to 5 working days. I contacted my credit card to advise that there's a dispute. Money BACK in my account today!!! What an awful job the telephone advisors have. How can their web site show 3 1/2 stars???? :j0

In post #9 I said I'd post again whether or not I receive the refund.
I did! Transaction date 9 October - when he rang - in my account 11 October.
The Twitter idea worked well for me - thanks guys!0
