Alcohol and Aldi?

I just love going into stores where the security guy is a bit keen. Act suspiciously for a while to catch his eye and then do some 'Furtive' shopping while he follows you around. At the end, pay for the goods and smile nicely at him. I know, it's juvenile but makes my day. :cool:0

If by any chance you resemble this guy, that could be the problem.:rotfl:

I have 4 Aldi branches convenient to my home and honestly say I have never seen a Security guard in any of them, nor in Lidl for that matter. So what if they have moved all their stock around, ALL the supermarkets do this from time to time. It took me ages to get used to the new layout in Morrisons a couple of years ago and bearing in mind they have double the number of aisles that Aldi does...

I go into lidl with my shopping cart and fill it up as I go around. The friendly security guard doesn't bat an eyelid any more but I did have an interesting conversation with him when I first did it. I'm pretty sure you can't class it as shop lifting if you've made no attempt to hide the fact you're filling your bag and if you haven't tried to leave the shop without paying! He agreed with me in the end.Getting married 02.08.14

Supermarkets seem to constantly shift their stock around. You'd think they could find something better to do with the time really. I guess it's to keep customers looking around their shop for as long as possible in the hopes they might pick up a load of random stuff to buy.0

Nope, completely wrong. It'll be trying and testing new ranges, they may need more space and then there's the logical placing of having similar categories next to each other.
They want to make as much money as possible, this means, test, test & test when it comes to ranges & space planning etc.Got it in one!

In France people use their own bags in supermarkets.the_insider wrote: »I go into lidl with my shopping cart and fill it up as I go around. Aldi seem to have a similar layout in all their stores - or at least the 3 that I use regularly and it has changed little in months. In the last couple of weeks they've increased their fresh fruit and vegetable area by 50% in all their stores so I guess that's why the layout has changed.0
