Funko

Good Evening Everyone,

I've recently came back from my summer holiday in America, I visited Orlando, Florida (it was great!).

When I was there I went to Walmart and treated myself to a couple of "Mini Mystery Funko Figures: Marvel Universe" - basically a small version of the popular Funko figures, except you by them in a "blind" box and don't know what figure you have until you have opened it.

I opened the figure when I got back to UK, only to find one of my figures was broken (the head fell off).

I promptly wrote to Funko to advise them about this and that it would've been in manufacturing this fault looks to have happened as this was bought sealed.

They have advised that this should be taken back to the retailer as they won't take anything more to do with it as they are a Wholesaler and that their system can't deal with individual returns.

Can anyone help/advise what I should do next? I have had a look at the BBB.org site, has anyone used this? Can I use this if not a US citizen?

I don't know if Trading Standards can help here? But any help is appreciated

Thanks,

Jason

    Glue it back on.

A small cheap figure bought in another continent? Is it really worth bothering to even think about?

Should have opened it while there..bbb won't be able to help and you aren't covered by UK law.

    Lesson learned I guess...

Small and cheap yes, principal of the matter is the reason behind it. I think that whatever you buy should be received as expected.

I know, they were literally impulse check-out buys then forgotten about until the unpacking!

I thought as much about BBB but didn't like the response from the company, which is why chancing pursuing it. Definitely when I'm away far again, there will be thorough checks on all purchases!

    Cheers
  • Have you sent an e-mail to Walmart?
American companies are generally very good when it comes to customer service and you might well find that they will offer something such a voucher that you or someone else could use if they go to the US again.

I haven't, but couldn't see what accountability they would've taken. But yes that's worth a try :) a small token of goodwill wouldn't go a miss from Walmart! :)

    Thank you!

Could the damage have occurred whilst travelling?

Take it ASDA and see if they'll give you a refund. You never know....

I brought back bags of cookies, picture frames and other, bigger and exposed packaged, Funko figures which I transported back with no issue. All items of available clothing were used as buffers/cushions/shields lol. I did think that though but I wasn't convinced.
