Would it be dead clever to buy some shares today, or dead thick? I could spare £500 and am looking at leaving it for 20 years as it would form a little part of my pension...
If clever... How would I do it?:cool::cool: lurker:cool::cool:0 -

Hasn't that been Tesco's plan to a degree? Utilisation of space.0 -

Nobody really knows. But as a gamble the odds are pretty good. Cheapest way to do it would be to open an online share account.“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.” --Upton Sinclair0 -
Well i thought £2.46 was a great price and was going to get 12000 , had second thoughts when doing the debit card deposit and opted to buy 6000. I have also bought previously at £3.20 and £3.23 some time ago . The shares are a top up (Dividend) for my wifes pension when it comes in a few years . That plan is now on hold and have £2.80 approx as a price that i would get out selling all shares in Tesco . That , in my opinion is a reasonable price to expect , but when ?
As far as "options prices" for Tesco staff has been
2013 - £3.22
2012 - £2.82
2011 - £3.64
2010 - £3.86
2009 - £3.28
2008 - £3.11
So no employee will be actually taking the shares when they mature every February , unless they are STUPID .
So does this have any actual effect on the business itself , i am thinking it doesn't ??
Morrison have now started to price match with aldi/lidl - This is what Tesco should be doing , or should it ?0 -

Thats not quite how I read it. If Aldi is cheaper Morrisons put the difference in points on a card and when you have got £5 worth you can spend it instore.“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.” --Upton Sinclair0 -
Yes , it was wife's info ! I looked into it too and saw what you have posted about ! Still a good move imho .0

Well i have always bought Tesco when the shares fell as it was for the dividend and also to gain a bit when they went up . Having bought at £3.23 i should really be buying again now , but i am not , i have about £30k i had set aside to buy at £2 but i really am not very confident that they won't drop further . The company will still make about £2-2.3 billion this financial year so it must still be pretty good Company ?0
