Cancel the order and buy elsewhere.
Imagine if you had the fridge-freezer and it had a fault, having to deal with this level of incompetence trying to get anything done about it.0 -
Gotta feel for currys, they told you it would be the 17th, they give you a time window, you miss it and the rest is down to you (especially the tesco order).
The dent happens, they will replace, have they allowed you to use the fridge in the meantime?0 -
Thanks for your replies.
Especially yours visidigi!!
Your entitled to your opinion but in my world getting a text giving you a delivery window that's already started is unacceptable. Some of us have to work and arrange a house sitter.
And yes the Tesco delivery was ordered by me but after phoning Currys 3 times that day after missing the fridge freezer and being assured it would be delivered later that day, not my doing. Had they told me the fridge freezer would not be redelivered that day cause i missed the slot fair enough, I would have cancelled the Tesco delivery.

I have to agree with visidigi on this, it may have been short notice to give you your actual time slot but you knew what day it was going to be before hand. A lot of companies only do all day slots for delivery, until you had you specific slot that's what this was and it was up to you to make sure there was someone there to accept the delivery. You also had two hours from the time you received the text until delivery was attempted to either arrange for someone to be there or to contact Currys to change your delivery day to something more suitable.
They only send the text messages out on the day but they do send you details of how to track the order yourself so you could have gone online and tracked the order the night before delivery to get your 4 hour slot. They've done this for me when I ordered my cooker online, with details of tracking in the confirmation email and when I bought my tumble dryer with the details printed on the in store paperwork.
They may not have been the best in rearranging delivery but you do need to take some of the responsibility yourself, the whole saga could have been avoided if you had been there for the original delivery which you had advanced notice of.
Again with the Tesco order, fridges and freezers need to be left to stand for several hours before the first use so you should have allowed enough time after the new 6-7pm timeslot for this to happen, it wouldn't have been ready for food to go in it on the 17th even if they had delivered that evening.0 -
You were told it was going to be on Wednesday. You weren't there on Wednesday. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0
