Spam message on Apple devices?

How old are the devices? Any still under AppleCare?

My guess is that you've installed Adware. That's what you might get by installing "free" software without understanding the pitfalls. You can fix it by installing the previous backup you made in iTunes before the problem began.

Alternatively, your router itself may be infected. Easy to test - if the problem goes away when you are elsewhere, your router is the culprit.

Thanks for all the suggestions, will let you know if I manage to fix it. The ipad might still be in warranty, but I doubt my phone is, its a couple of years old, probably due an upgrade actually.

Install Chrome. If you still get the messages there it's likely a problem in the network settings (or above) rather than in Safari, so will give you a place to start.

Saying that 'Reset network settings' may be worthwhile in any case. You will have to re-input your wifi password afterwards.
