Spam message on Apple devices?

Hi all
Both myself and boyfriend keep getting the message below on our iphones/ ipad intermittently when we go on the internet - it doesn't happen on all pages, just random ones.
Having Googled the message, it looks like it is in Turkish and the link is to some online game.
A bit worried that the devices are infected/ have a virus.....although I thought that didn't happen with Apple. Anyone else come across this, any suggestions? Thank you!
The message is:
Gezintiye devam edebilmek için aşağıdaki uygulamayı indirmeniz gerekiyor. (Yenilendi)
İndirmek İçin Tıklayın (TAMAMEN ÜCRETSİZ)
İndirdikten sonra sistemin aktif olması için çalıştırmayı unutmayın.

May be related to a fleksi keyboard app?
Spot on it's Turkish & Google definitley your friend.
Hoping others on MSE can help more!
Push comes to shove, take all the iGadgets to an Apple store & ask - they're usually excellent, even if they can be awkward to get to.0 -
Thanks, not sure what a fleksi keyboard app is.....tend to only download free things

Yes I think that will be the easiest solution, will try and go next time I am in the vicinity if it keeps happening! Mostly worried that it might be stealing passwords or something....0 -
Hi
Are you running anti-virus software?
If not why not?
Apple store assistant "I have been using apples for 11 years and never had a virus" without a scanner how would he know.
Try SOPHOS or AVG or AVIRA for free A/V software.

Who told you apple products were infallible?0
-
Johndough, no I didn't know you can do this on a phone.....will have a look at that link, thanks.
Shortchanged, I'm sure I have heard my boyfriend say they are less likely to get infected than PC's, but may well have made that up :-)0 -

They may well be safer but they are not totally immune to attack as obviously yourself and others are led to believe.
I would also suspect that due to the growing popularity of apple products over the past few years there will be more interest from hackers to target apple products now and in the future.0 -
What do you mean "message"? A txt message? iMessage? Notification?
What are you doing when this message comes through?0 -
Hi Inside Insurance, if I am in Safari on my phone/ ipad and search for something in Google, then click on the link - the webpage flashes up briefly, then is replaced by a blank white page with this turkish message at the top - actually, trying it now, the address in the web bar is 'goodwebads.com'......
Like I say, its not every time, seems to be random which webpages it 'replaces'.
I'm just clocing the page when it happens, not clicking the link.
think a trip to apple is in order!!0 -

Do you have any source for that info? I'm not aware of iPhones/iPads being infected by any malware.0 -

I don't know as yet but that doesn't mean they are immune from other forms of attack and that things won't materialise in the future.
