TV Service providers, what laws

I have made complaint on a number of occasions but I get the generic response from the BBC 'We believe we are impartial, we have rules we need to follow, the BBC thinks it follows the rules (although the BBC is not externally audited)'. It's a bit like a pedophile saying 'I have checked and there are no indecent images on my hard drive, officer'...
I will read up on the Ofcom code and see what I can find out.

Anyone else find it ironic that the OP chose Big Ben as his avatar, or perhaps the huge bias at the Beeb got to him and he voted No.0 -
My biggest problem is the 'YES' campaign not truly accepting a 'NO' vote.0

Were you expecting anything else? Typically when someone holds beliefs such as these, they do not disappear or change just because someone else disagrees with them.
I seriously cant see the call for independence ever stopping with how things stand at present. Perhaps with devo-max it would satisfy most except the die hards. But until then.....expect more referendums (well perhaps not in our lifetime). You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

The SNP should accept the will of the people and the 2 million people rather keep on about 1.6 million and just move on.0 -

Salmond will return I guarantee you.0 -

Should tories, labour and lib dems then also accept the will of the people is for further devolution of power to scotland? Remember, a lot more than 45% support scotland being in control of its own affairs, just only 45% were willing to sacrifice being in the union to get it (think the last survey better together done indicated over 80% want home rule).
Should westminster have accepted the majority yes vote back in 1979 as the will of the people instead of using the 40% rule?
You can't have it both ways.
Speaking about change in general rather than independence but....I dont think people should ever stop fighting for change. If people gave up and accepted the will of the majority, we wouldnt now have the freedoms we do - we'd still have black slaves, being homosexual would be a crime, women wouldnt have the right to vote and kids would be sent to work in the factories instead of to school etc.
At some point in history each of those movements were in the minority. Not by any means saying independence is the way forward....just that the yes voters continuing to challenge the status quo could be a good thing not just for scotland, but the UK as a whole. You keep using that word. The biggest thing to come out of the referendum wasn't the result - it was the engagement of the populace in the political process. 85% (ish) turnout is almost unheard-of in any election in the UK since the first one after WWII.
Let's hope some of that impetus rubs off on the general election next year.0 -
WOW
I ask a question on what laws/rules TV service providers have to follow and I am bitter. If they have followed the rules, I am big enough to accept that.
I do not believe they have followed the rules and have actively aided the No campaign. If I am wrong (which is common) then they have no case to answer. I can only truly measure this if I know exactly what laws they have to abide by.
I must say that I find it strange that the only time the BBC has attempted to validate 'expert opinion' was when Prof. John Robertson released the findings of UWoS, a study which showed considerable imbalance in the BBC's reporting.
Please stop trolling this post (whatever side you are on), there are plenty of pages on facebook for trolling. I thought this forum would have had a bit more grown up discussion.0 -
Haha, I just realized that you were talking about my Avatar being Big Ben. That must be a default on this site, or a random. Think I'll keep it there for irony....0
