It's really cold here so I put the heating on half an hour before everyone got up. I turned it off after an hour but I haven't had my shower yet, wish I'd left it on til I'm dressed, I'm so cold.
I woke up with loads of energy today, I'm in the mood for a good clear-up and sort out. Third load of washing is in the machine, hoover is plugged in upstairs and the duster is on the table ready to be used

Hi Bitsy :j

Hi everyone,
Marie, so sorry for your loss.
Sistercas, please keep an eye on your DD and suggest she gets counselling if she needs it. The same thing happened to my DD in her second year and it took her months to get over it (it also seriously affected me, even though I hade never met him, so be kind to yourself).
Elona, I hope the treatment goes well.
We had a quiet weekend, with a gentle walk on Saturday. We saw DS and GF yesterday and I rescued some of my cake containers which had been gradually disappearing to their house (with contents of course).
DD is back from Russia, having had a lovely time, but tiring.
Please turn your thoughts to DH's nephew's wife who is booked in for a section at 11am. The hospital have been monitoring her carefully and scanning twice a week but she is now worried there is something wrong with the baby.
I need to finish quilting a spiral on the quilt for said baby and then I can get on with sewing on the binding because I need to complete it by Thursday.
A couple of you have asked for pics of my work and I finally worked out how to put them on, they are on the new Quilting thread if you are interested.
Nice to see you back Bitsy.
Have a good day.0 -
Mornin' folks :hello: - cool, grey start to the day here on Merseyside. But I CAN see some tiny bits of blue appearing among the clouds :j. It's Recycling Collection this morning, so the bin is out on the pavement - had to wear my fleecy dressing gown to nip outside briefly
.
sistercas - so sorry to hear about your DD's friend at uni. I'm sure she'll find support from her own circle of friends and also from the Uni Staff. Such a horrible thing to happen - especially in the first few days when everybody is trying to settle down and 'fit in'. The girl's own family must be devastated ................. ((((hugs)))) to all connected with this poor, desperate young woman.
TTFTM - thanks for starting today's thread. Glad to hear that you're going to make an appointment with the GP - hope it's for asap.
Hester - hope today in work is a decent one for you. The Borscht sounds .
camelot - what a pity when kids grow up not appreciating 'good, home-cooked food'. But lovely to hear that your DD, at least, appreciates a flask of good, nutritious soup :j.
dumpling - on the. I think I might have that same pattern book - I'm sure your dgk's will love the Nativity Set when it's done :j.
redruby - have a good day at work.
nmlc - teenagers can be funny about family get-togethers - they either love or hate them. I'm sure, as long as he can spend some kind of celebratory event with his friends in their own way, he'll be fine with the idea of a party for family - as long as the dates don't clash :undecided.
Gers - how lovely of your visitors to bring you yummy food like that and WD on your foraging :j. Good Luck with the stripping - the PC I mean.
MrsLurcherWalker - Wow what a productive weekend - and such a busy week ahead.
BitsyBeans - welcome back . I know what you mean about the seasons - I'm a Spring/Autumn person. Can't abide hot/sweaty summer months; but also the cold of winter gets into my bones/muscles and ice makes me nervous/unsteady.
tru - enjoy your crochet project - is it going to be a 'snake' for the door?
snoozer - hope all goes well for the baby. Will check out your pics on quilting thread
.
Plans for today include:- make some soup - watched Downton Abbey last night instead of doing it then
.
- visit the bank to deposit some money.
- spend time in the garden finishing off tidying the Beech Hedge.
- offer to cut back the bramble that's invaded lovely-downstairs-neighbour's little greenhouse. It looks like it's coiling itself continuously within the panes of glass :undecided.
- offer to cut back next-door neighbour's rampant fuschia that overhangs my side of the garden fence.
Off for anotherthen a shower before going out - must avoid the shops or the money won't make it as far as the bank .
speak later - luv Lilyplonk xx0 - make some soup - watched Downton Abbey last night instead of doing it then

Morning,(((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))) bbrrrrr its cold this morning. OH has not been out to read the thermometer but I guess I will get a full report when he does.
Laundry in the machine, want to get the towels done as well if I can, hope they will dry.
Last nights pork loin was delicious, and going to slice whats left on the slicer, we will have some for supper tonight with jacket spuds and salad, the rest will go in the freezer.

Morning all,
so sorry to hear of the deaths of Meanmaries' brother in law and the shock suicide of Sistercas' daughters friend. My condolences to all their lives have touched. Such sadness.
Snoozer I'm thinking of your DH nephews' baby. I hope all goes well and the baby is ok.
All is well with me but I'm so glad the weekend is over. I can try and unscramble whats left of my brain.
Just the usual daily chores for me today and I need to get this blasted prescription. I really didn't want to go to my usual chemist as I need to tell them off.
Hubby was still moaning about his sister last night. I just let him get on with it.
Cottage pie for tea tonight. I'm thinking ahead which is unusual for me cause my plans usually change at the last minute.
Onwards and forwards,
have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I am so sorry to hear about your DDs friend's death and hope she gets help to come to terms with things . It must have been a dreadful shock.
Meanmarie
So sorry for your loss.
Got up to make sure DH had breakfast as he has lost quite a bit of weight recently. Made porridge with chopped nuts and agave nectar on top and the made a huge glass of fresh veg and orange juice .
Kitchen looks like a bomb hit it so cleaned and bleached double sinks, loaded dishwasher and loaded washing machine as well.
DH is out mowing the back garden and says he is stuffed
Have pea soup from yesterday and a couple of veggieburgers (HM) for DH for lunch and made enchiladas last night with quorn pieces, mushrooms, peppers, garlic etc. so have a couple left for lunch for DD and for me.
Youngest DD messaged me to say she had tried one of the frozen moussakas I made for her to take to uni and one of her flatmates had commented on how nice it smelled.
DDs made a healthy choc cake for us to try and it was not bad all so that is another healthy thing for DH. Might try banana ice cream as I have some frozen bananas in freezer and see if that tempts him.

Morning chums sound like things have been eventful whilst I have been away, my condolances to those who have lost friends or family.
I had a very busy few days, Friday I flew to Scotland, and met up with long-lost family, and had a fantastic time, came home Saturday night, very tired, but I did so enjoy myself.
Sunday I was up early to look after my three DGS as their Mum and Dad were taking DGS Ben off to Uni. That all went well, and the little boys were very good. Today I already have a line of washing out and more to go, and I want to change the beds as well.
I go into hospital for my reconstruction operation next Sunday so I want all the washing, ironing and cleaning all up to date so there is nothing to do much when I come home.
I have a stack of books to read when I come home so I won't have time to get bored:)
Right I'm off to put the bedding in the machine I want to make to most of the nice weather while I can have a good day everyone

Morning all,
Will catch up on the weekends new properly later, have had a quick scan and want to send hugs to those that need them and what wonderful news Elona.
Went away for the weekend mainly to visit BIL who has had a large tumor removed. Couldn't believe how good he looked less than 24 hours after a very long and difficult operation and yesterday was allowed to have a little walk.
Not much else to say really. Cleaned through this morning, been to the Dobbies butcher to stock up my freezer. Chicken in the slow cooker.
Happy Monday0
