I have trouble finding a good quality nexus 7 charging cable.

Hi folks,

I need a really good quality nexus 7 charging mini usb cable as the original one is a little loose on the micro usb side.

I have tried a number of other cables now and they are so slow at charging, luckily I can just about use the original cable.

I have done a google search and it seems you can't buy the original cable, so would be grateful if anyone has got a good alternative cable that would suit my nexus 7 2012?

many thanks for your advice.

The cable doesn't dictate the speed of charging. If it's faster charging you need you'll need look at other things besides the cable. Any cable should charge at full speed.

What are you plugging the cable into? Are you using the original charger? There seems to be a lot of complaints about the nexus 7 charging slowly on the internet. Probably best to look at that before spending £££ on an unnecessarily expensive cable.

Try PortaPow.They have 30cm, 150cm and 250cm. I have 150cm one such that I can surf when it is plug in, they are faster than those cheap one.

    .

It does. Expecially when you are on a long cable. The reisitance of the cable would make a difference.

Not a great deal with the sort of lengths and current/voltages you are talking about with USB cables.

Cannot see it making any difference to charging speed unless it is a few hundred meters long.

I'm assuming the op is talking about a bog standard, fairly short, cable here. Slow charging on the Nexus 7 is a known issue - I don't think we need to go into the murky world of "high quality" cables to solve this one.

The fact is I purchased a low cost flat usb 1.5m cable on ebay, I plug in when I surfing, and it doesn't actually charge up, but the low resistant cable do.

That's why I suggest getting a long cable which OP can plug in and continous what he is doing. Not ideal, but at least you don't have to put down the tablet and wait for 30 mins to get another 20% of battery.

Get a blackberry playbook charger, 2amp and lower resistance usb cable.
    £2.99 delivered

Works spot on with even my asus t100 which won't charge at all with a standard 1a charger.
