I have been a Sky subscriber for about 8 years now and still have the same box that was issued then (not HD).
I have sold my house and solicitor is asking if I am taking the 'satellite tv antenna'.
My plan is to get Sky installed in the new house but in my partners name (to get discount as a new subscriber) and that will mean a new dish and a new box.
Is it of any benefit to me to take the old dish? Is it worth anything to sell?
Re the old box - could I take this with me and use it with freeview service to record/pause etc?
Thanks

Take box, leave dish.0

You can't access Freeview via a sat dish-that requires an aerial.
The dish is near worthless, since you will get a new one.
You can only use the PVR functions on the Sky+ box while you are a subscriber. Those functions will be disabled once your sub stops. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Thanks - I will take the box and leave the dish then!0

If you take a new subscription a new dish and box are included and HD+ box are included.
Your old box, without subscription, can only be used to view, but not record, Freesat channels and only if the new house has a useable dish left by the previous occupant.0
