Hi BB, sorry for the delayed reply, i fell asleep on the sofa after reading this and then had a crazily busy day today, I got out in the garden to try and make the most of what looks like being the last nice day before the rain sets in. I'm alright though thanks, knackered as always thanks to DIY overkill! How are things with you now, are you handling your busy schedule ok?
I'm just glad my money situation isn't too bad as DH will sub me if needs be, but I just don't like not knowing how much my work will pay me when I finish next week, and whether I'll get paid on the 25th at my new place, or whether I'll have to wait another month!
I'm seriously thinking about doing my first current account switch soon though, you've inspired me. Is there still a good offer on at M&S?
Hopefully one of the lovely home growers can advise, I've cleared out most of my growing bags now as the toms were past it and the runner beans were finished. I've also dug up around half of the potatoes as the foliage died several weeks ago and I didn't want them to start rotting. I've replaced them with more sprouted ones from my pantry in the vain hope of having more for Christmas. But is there anything else I can plant now that will grow over the next few months? It feels like a waste to have empty bags sitting around. Also, the bags that contained tomatoes are now full of tiny roots. Do I need to pick them all out or will they just rot down into the soil?
Onions and garlic are good to put in now. I've got dwarf beans in my greenhouse and they seem to be doing fab
Re your soil- I'd take it out of the pots, put it in the compost or on the beds and start again with new compost as all the nutrients will be gone now. Was also some Disney Planes single duvets. .£3.20 after 20%. Might have been old packaging as scanned another and that was £14 . Didnt take much notice as not something I wanted.
Pink oblong cushions RTC £7.50. I think they scanned at £2.50 then 20% to come off.
Disney princess lunch boxes. 20% came off them as well so £1.60 each but theres quite a few styles of those and dont remember specific one.Others were £8
Its worth scanning anything and everything in homewares section

Both these are MSE links £125 gift card special to MSE (think they are OK RF)
Its taking about six weeks between applying and talking to them about switching to getting the voucher. They got very busy with MSE customers.

if my girls asked me what they look like or anyone else asked i am truthful but they are never happy with the reply, why ask me if you dont want me to tell the truth, they can then make a judgement whether to go out looking like they do:o:o
I try to be pleasant about but but I think my face gives me away x0 -

Second attempt at bramble jelly appears to have been more successful
Must've just needed a bit longer boiling as managed without the gelatine.
I'm back to work tomorrow so I ought to get to bed. I've enjoyed being back on the thread the last week so will catch up when I can, but I'll say goodnight for now ♥ Worrying does not empty tomorrow of it's troubles.... it empties today of it's strength ♥0 -

Thanks for the recommendations QOC
I've not got a greenhouse so I guess I'll stick to onions and garlic for now! I did have leeks but they got a certain height and apparently became irresistible to all the slugs and snails in my local area
I've got a little plastic covered shelving thingy but I suspect that won't do much when it starts freezing overnight.
I knew you were going to say that about the soil. I was hoping to avoid having to empty and refill, ah well. I'm hopeful that I'll be able to use the actual flower beds next year, we're just too busy with the house this year to be keeping on top of the garden as well. I want to plant lots of exciting new things and then enjoy seeing them grow and then the best bit: the satisfaction of eating our own produce0 -
