Savvy I scored 12 in the autie quiz
Tiny ikwym about not knowing family history, as grandad was adopted back in 1901 and no official records then, I have the feeling great grandma (granddad's birth mother) made every effort to hide details of his birth father
Auntie, Autie. I'm not sure I like the "autie" word, but I'll go with it:T. For me, autism is a positive thing, so any derivative is also good.
I've now caught up with today and it looks like I got the highest score and beat you all!!:D:D:j:rotfl: I was reading a book (:o:oanother sign of my Asperger's) and it said I'd always have problems with social interaction with ordinary people - although this suggests my interaction isn't any good at all when in fact it's a lot better than that - and gave the solution as you need to be more autistic. So, that's what I've decided I'll do - the 'problem' is not that I'm not completely normal (whatever that is) but that I'm not autistic enough. I don't mean completely non-verbal, rocking around or learning disabilities - none of which I have (though I do have, very subtle, learning difficulties, of a kind - in other words working out the intention) but - while I do like to rock around the Christmas tree at Xmas parties - my 'autism' is seen as 'very mild' - but I think I need to be more autistic (in the good sense of the concept, other things that what are mentioned here)!:)0 -

Strange as there's been nothing untoward happening on here today.
Think the powers that be are seriously over reacting to some posts.

They always do. In fact, it's very interesting watching, from an autistic perspective, the behaviour of the normal people in society - in my role as curious watcher. (We all know what curiosity killed:eek:.)
It just draws attention and, as usual, causes me to check Google and thank goodness Google's cache took a scan this morning and has retained the "deleted" information - so, totally ineffective, the information they didn't want me to read has already now been communicated to me and it's impossible to wipe it from my brain and unknow it - of course I can't repeat it here, but interesting. It's not "the powers that be" - but the entirety of everything that exists in the world, and inconsistent with each other again as usual (inconsistency of most people was another topic in my now lost post, timed out rather than deleted by any powers that be).
Will be interesting to see if this post gets deleted:rotfl:.0 -

Bananababe wrote: »Im often misunderstood and often it comes across rude. I don't mean to be rude. Just straight to the point. It often gets me in to trouble
As I'm now so averse to trouble or conflict:o:o, this leads to me not saying anything at all (which then increases the problem as makes me more introverted). Then they expect you to say something and, when you don't, your silence is treated as being rude. (Why didn't you speak to me when asked?)
But...I didn'ta know what to say. (Nor do I know what to say to the question of why I didn't say anything, that you've now asked. Should I give the truth? And then be taken to be rude? Or should I make something up and then be wrestling internally with my own lying?)
I can't win... however, as that is the case, I do not therefore even try "to win" and therefore I don't bother about it and I'm perfectly fine!:D:T
In fact I've also gone the other way. I'm a lot more assertive in a lot of ways than I ever used to be. Sometimes straight to the point is the best way. Sometimes you can have people that respect that - "I like how you tell it as it is". But I don't necessarily mean to be "outspoken" - and sometimes, yes, I do mean to be outspoken and I like to be a little controversial (often in a teasing-kind of way). Often I deliberately tell the truth but also in a way that I am laughing, or they think I am, so it puts it past them as they think I'm having a joke (even though both me and them knows it's the truth!):):rotfl:. In fact I am laughing. I sometimes just add a laugh to do so and make it more acceptable which, often, it works! That said I'd know to keep my mouth shut in other circumstances. Through long personal experience rather than through 'just knowing'. Sadly. As it means nothing will ever change and allistic world will never learn - just not prepared to listen to the truth sometimes! And I know some allistic people who actually agree with me, yet still follow what their society forces them to do and go along with it. But then we have to, and that's how it works:( - doesn't solve it as such, just increases the truth of the "not prepared to hear the truth"! IMO.0
