Omg this took me back - spent 7 years wearing braces then still needed an op on my jaw. As posted soft foods until you get used to it. From what I see they use a lot less metal than they used to so most foods not a problem and less risks of them snapping.
Foods you may need to avoid - nuts.... maybe not with the newer ones.
Which reminds me of one of my most embarrassing conversations ever ...... In my teens I used to work at a supermarket and really liked this lad who used to live near me - we became really good friends and used to walk back from work late at night together (a real gent). Anyhow the braces got more complicated and I was feeling fed up as had top and bottom one with elastics between the 2 - was feeling like torture. Anyhow he politely asks if any foods to avoid and I promptly replied "I can't eat nuts, its a shame I really like my nuts" (meaning peanuts). Cue said guy rolling around laughing - and despite many questions refused to illuminate why it was so funny.... Got home and asked my mum who gave me a grilling til she realised why I was asking ... she put me right :embarasse. :rotfl:

That reminded of seeing Al Murray live, and him talking to a, shall we say, well-upholstered gentleman in the audience ...

Was just about to post asking re cod and ham so thanks - I've not been able to get to shops but after dropping DD at band practise will have one hour before need to pick her up. Trouble is will have huge pp even if splitting as need handwash, cod, ham, pork lol. Lovely - hopefully got my mojo back. Thank you for all you lovely posters.....! :T :T
Managed a carboot on Sunday so some much needed space made in the loft. Raised £197 so saved for kids xmas pressies and other xmas stuff. Haven't had the energy for last couple of years so hoping these new meds getting my mojo back
I've usually got most of xmas sorted but not so this year  - partly as kids are older less certain what they'll want - or mega bucks as they begin to aspire to electronics and latops. Also think grabbit board way off the boil now - so if it wasn't for you guys would do hotdeals (actually don't have time for hot deals now I've found you guys - thank god for Dave and Bubbs putting links up).:rotfl:
Happy shopping peeps. :T0 -

Cottage pie! It was a godsend when I had mine, nice and easy and filling, with minimal chewing required, but also had the required 'comfort food' feeling to make me feel better about the pain.
No twixes in my T, someone had raided them! Got a couple of Mars packs for DH, but didn't bother stocking up.
Checked the Magners, but the 20-pack had a '£10' flash on it and scanned at that0 -

Hi Emerald
I found cutting out sugar/sweet things helped my stomach. It didn't really stick out much, but felt bloated . I eat no sugary stuff now and feel so much better - I have 75% - 90% dark choc and rice cakes with the dark belguim choc if I fancy anything sweet. I put a little dried fruit or stewed apples/bananas on my Oatibix in the morning and have a Nairns biscuit mid morn - boring I know but I feel so much better it is worth it.
Thanks to the OP re the gluten free lower prices in T's - I bought some on an Asda C and C yesterday.
4 x Nairn's Biscuit Breaks - Oats & Fruit (160g) £7.20 £3.20Good that newbie avatar has gone0
