You may already know, but make sure you have a warning triangle and hi-vis vest in the car, just in case.
The DIY breathalysers are recommended but not compulsory.....yet.

This might help to refresh your memory/ bring you up to date.

I have taken this from the Normandy site because I am not sure how far into France you plan to go.

I'm sure nothing will go wrong and you will have a great time :D

Thanks for the tips. I have read up on it and have the triangle etc from years ago.years ago it was compulsory to carry spare bulbs also seems thats not necessary now

Make and model? Your car should have at least a (minimum) 3 year manufacturer's warranty.

However in the 3rd year you can reclaim the cost of warranty repairs done abroad as long as the work is done at a Skoda dealer.
At least you can under the current warranty offered.

Thanks macman will look into that if needed.
Phoned insurers this morning they do not offer breakdown cover.
  • My parents go and stay in their caravan in France for most of the summer. They are having to cut their holiday in half (and return to UK for couple of weeks) because they can't find European breakdown cover which covers them for more than 90 days at a time. Ther must be a way around this?

so they live in UK for 8 months and France for 4 months (roughly).
Look at ADAC (German club) who cover all of Europe; point out this is not 'holiday' but simply living in 2 countries....
The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....

Or possibly look at an annual policy with a French insurer? Ie have 2 policies. Could be cheaper?

Another vote for ADAC. English web pages, cheaper and better that AA etc., and covers UK as well. Years cover for less than most charge for temporary.
