Have you checked your UK insurance, it should give you cover for your time in France.0

It may be cheaper to just have it added to your UK breakdown cover, this is what I usually do. Also, unbelievably, it can be cheaper to add the whole year than just 8 days!Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Thanks for replies. we do not have UK breakdown cover
my UK insurance covers me to drive abroad but will not cover me incase of breakdown0 -
Mine wouldn't cover me abroad either even at extra cost it just want available. I looked around and found that Eurostar were the cheapest but I am guessing only available if you are using them? Still really expensive for what it offered.0

Try Greenflag then, they're always pretty reasonable. AA and RAC are expensive.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Then as Peachy said, add breakdown to existing insurance.
Things have certainly changed, our insurance covered us for up to 30 days (per year) even provided us with a courtesy car one time while ours was being repaired.
Maybe regular travellers will come on and give you better advice?
Better to be safe than sorry, especially if you are going to be using the autoroutes.
Good luck

Thanks Carmen, we get 60 days insurance cover for driving abroad.
The car is next to new but just want the security of breakdown cover, just in case!
Dont think our existing insurance offers breakdown cover abroad but i will check tomorrow thanks0 -
If the car is 'near new' then check what recovery and repair is offered under the manufacturer's warranty, which should be European-wide.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Make and model? Your car should have at least a (minimum) 3 year manufacturer's warranty. No free lunch, and no free laptop
