How well are people doing with Twitter competitions?

Hey,
I have a twitter account for competitions (so I don't spam my main account) and I have entered hundreds of these "follow and retweet" competitions. Although as of yet, I haven't won any.
I was wondering if anyone else has had better luck with Twitter?

i also enter hundreds on a weekly basis & have only ever won one thing.. i know more people have had more luck.
so many people do it on twitter & theres lots of bots who auto RT anything with win or competition in the tweet, so really i expect were quite disadvantaged on twitter.0 -

I hadn't considered auto RTing bots. It's a shame people like that ruin it for everyone else. I guess Twitter isn't really the best place to be entering competitions. I will keep up with it though, because you never know if you don't try2014 wins: Colgate electric toothbrush, a book from Goodreads, Football from Moy Park, Handmade Bangle from Lyla Loves

i have one a few things mainly through the dog companies- small stuff like treats and toys.
someone said you are unlikely to win if all you have on your account is competition tweets so i use my personal one as i only enter a few that i actually want rather than having loads.
the bigger companies do check your accounts and will disqualify bots but the smaller ones are often rigged i think as often a new account made on day of picking winner or its somone to do with the company if you check the names!!0 -
I haven't won anything there for ages although I have had one or two nice bits in the past which keeps me going for now - but I'm very close to giving it a miss.0

My account is mostly comp tweets and I have won a couple of times over the past year, all fairly low value prizes but from big companies. I think the odds are much lower than the comps where you have to fill in forms but then they are so quick to enter that I cant resist them.0

I do spend a lot of time tweeting and have won 15 prizes on there this month. I mostly just RT the company tweet from their page and comment if they ask.. or if I really fancy the prize.
Sometimes I will copy and paste as well if it's a prize I like.
Chat helps too, try to chat with friends and comment something other than comp posts.
I am daisyduck123 on Twitter if anyone wants a nosy0 -
i pin a random tweet to the top of my page so at a glance you cant see all the comps, youve gotta scroll down

I think the main place where I have been going wrong with twitter is that I branded my twitter page as a competitions page. I think I am better to slightly hide that I am a competitions page, and thank you mrsHall2b I have now pinned a random tweet at the top as well

Ooooh good tip about the pinning! I tweet a lot but rarely win - I did have my biggest win to date last week of a huge 60 inch tv so it is worth it I think! Sadly there are a ot of cheats & bots on twitter but it really is luck of the draw xoxo0
