    Evening all,

Elona, so pleased to hear your news about your husbands treatment. Its the news you needed to hear.

Not done much today, usual cleaning plus the outlaws visited this afternoon. I was trying to persuade hubby to visit them last night to save them coming here but he wouldn't as I thought it was about time we were due a visit.

"Don't say anything" he whispered to me in the kitchen as I was making the drinks. I knew what he meant. The words "I told you so" would have been so easy to slip out.

Seems like his sister has left her mark and wound hubby up like a spring. Hubby doesn't like being told what to do any more than I do.

    Have a good evening all,

Elona - that's great news that the oncologist has plans for so much treatment for your DH. pray1.gif for you both.

Have finally got back from an afternoon expedition to Mr T's - first time over the door-step for almost a week, so I 'took it easy' strolling down the hill with my 'wally-trolley'.

Went for a 'treat coffee' in Cost-a-lot and donated some unwanted books to their 'book table'.

Had a wander around as we needed fresh fruit/veg/milk - remembered to get OH a birthday card :rotfl: - checked out whoopsies -

Desiree Potatoes - 2 bags at 5p each
    Carrots - 5p
Butternut Squash with Sweet Potato - 6p
    Swede - 3p
    Nectarines - 2 packs of 5 at 10p each
    Low-Fat Hummus - 10p
Rainbow Trout - £1.00 - now in freezer for a day when I'm out and OH's 'home alone'.
Mini Cheddars - bag of 6 mini packs for 80p
Earth Balance Sour Cream and Chives Kettle Chips (£3.25!) - 80p.
    4 Bread Rolls - 13p
Coarse Pork Liver and Mushroom Pate with great use-by date - 2 lots at 10p each

There's definitely soup-making on the schedule for tonight :j.

Waited for the bus to get me back up the hill - even with Mr Wally, I knew that hill would be w-a-y too much for me this afternoon. Decided to ring OH after I got off the bus as I started to feel 'light-headed and 'deep, internal cold' while crossing the main road. Think I was just very dehydrated, as I drank 3 full glasses of very weak diluted cordial when I got back in again :(.

I'm just about to start our evening meal - potatoes are draining as I type, so will need to get them into the Actifry in a few minutes.

I'll put the veggies into the oven to roast while we're having our meal - then the soup-making won't take very long afterwards.

Looking forward to Downton Abbey for this evening :j.

Hope everybody is OK this evening - speak again later when I've had chance to check out this afternoon's posts properly.

    luv Lilyplonk xx

    Evening all,

Has been a strange day, firstly we had our Gaelic football finals for minors and seniors, both won by Kerry where OH comes from. The second game was just over when I had a phone call to say that OHs eldest brother had died....he was 83 and in failing health for a couple of years, but it was very sudden in the end. DD 3 is on her way from Australia, she will arrive tomorrow night......long journey on her own but she insists on coming.

    Stay safe and well everybody

  • So sorry for your loss Marie.

Are you due for your endoscopy soon, if so good luck?

meanmarie - so sorry to hear about your OH's brother. I know that when the end comes - even when the person has been ill for a while - it still arrives with a shock.

Thinking of you and your family at this time pray1.gif.
