Gadget Insurance

Hi there,
For the last few years I had gadget insurance with a company called mystuff.
I paid £8.99 per month to insure my laptop, camera and phone.
I had to claim throughout the years once or twice due to theft etc and they always replaced or paid up ASAP......they even covered accidental damage etc
They were very good.
Unfortunately they stopped trading so now I am left without gadget insurance.
Can you recommend any companies that insure these items and are good at replacing / paying up in the event of mishaps??
Thank you

Ask yourself why they stopped trading?
Offering premiums that were too low to get customers in - paying more out in claims equals bankruptcy.
Don't look at the price look at the cover.0 -
I have friends who swear by american express gadget insurance, you don't need to be a card holder to take it out.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. mystuff is not going to be the insurers, they may or may not have been the claims handlers.
Look through your documents and see who the actual insurer and claims administrators are. You will almost certainly find something similar from someone else unless they did their own claims handling.
Is there a reason to need to insure these separately to your home insurance?0 -
I'll need laptop insurance for a new Macbook while travelling and working abroad. My travel insurance reimbursement is too low and claiming on home insurance would raise the premiums too much. (I already have mobile phone insurance for this year but could fold it in in the future.) Can anyone recommend a reliable insurance company0

As per post #4, who was your previous insurer?
Best to use them again if you are happy with the way they have handled past claims.0
