  • What the heck is happening. I feel like time is just speeding past at the moment!

    Last week:
    Swagbucks:12023
    Bubblews:$28.53
    YouGov:13224
    iSay:11565
OpinionOutpost: 338 (must have calculated this wrong last week!)
    OnePoll: £11.05
    Vivatic: £13.76

    This week:
    Swagbucks:13361
    Bubblews:$28.56
    YouGov:13374
    iSay:11655
    OpinionOutpost: 337
    OnePoll: £11.70
    Vivatic: £14.76

    This week's payouts:

    Media Survey: Won £2.
First week without an OpinionOutpost pay out, however I think that's more to do with me not having the energy than anything with the site!

    Monthly Mortgage Memorandum
In mortgage related news - here's the summary for the last month:
    September 2014 £64,234.11
    Interest £187.01
    Standard Payment £417.76
Overpayments £109.73 (Working Tax Credit, Current Account bonus + difference between old and new mortgage).
    October 2014 £64,234.11

This is the first month on our new mortgage. The payment dropped from £433.10 to £417.76, but we decided to keep it at £433.10 + current account bonuses, which should be a comfortable regular overpayment.

Very much looking to the Swagbucks Amazon sale this week! Fingers crossed it's a good sale.

Hope you all had a good weekend and have a great week.

  • Wow, it's been over a month since I last posted. A lot has happened since then:
I managed to complete my £50 in 100 days when I cashed out £85 of Amazon vouchers from Swagbucks during their recent sale.

We finished another mortgage year and oddly received around £3 in refunded interest - I never realised that this could happen!

Also, and most importantly we had the 20 week scan and discovered that we're having a boy! Here's a copy of the scan photo:

If I'm not back on, then I want to wish you all a happy Christmas. I hope you all have a lovely time.

    Thanks for reading,
    Tim

Well done all round Timmy and congratulations on Tiny Tim :D.

  • It's been over 2 months since my last update and there's been a lot going on around the home. We finally got the hideous bowed fence replaced and the nursery is now decorated. We wanted to go for a woodland theme and found some really nice wall stickers that we hope the little one will like!

If nothing changes we currently have 16 years and 8 months remaining on our mortgage, which isn't bad considering it was 25 years when we took it out in November 2009.
Although it's quite disappointing to think that the £30746.32 we've paid out so far only equates to a drop of £15514.58.
I remember growing up and everyone always says that mortgages are better than rent because all the money goes towards your own house rather than someone else's. But I wonder if the majority of people consider just how much goes to the mortgage lender rather than our own houses?

I hope that you're all having a great 2015 so far.
