EMail for Tesco bank

Options
Has anyone managed to find a working email address for Tesco bank?

Am fed up with being on hold, and my email to customer services elicited a response that they can't be emailled - only phone or in writing. They did say this:

"Unfortunately Tesco Bank, do not have any email addresses for any of their services. This could be due to the sensitive nature of the information which is needed for a query. "

which is a lot of weasel words - other banks manage just fine.

Edit - googling shows this which makes it look like there are plenty of people frustrated with their service:

I work for a bank. We don't accept any email relating to account queries.

Emails are inherently unsafe and no bank will discuss account specifics with anyone by email. Many do have an internal messaging system for this reason, though Tesco is not one of them.

I have found the Tesco current account team on 0141 278 6081 very easily accessible, and very knowledgeable and helpful always.

But sounds as you might be after their credit card services? I have only ever called them on 01268 50 80 27 to activate a card and that was done in seconds without talking to anyone.

The woman who wrote that Which? article has clearly never heard of just how easy it is to fake an email.
  • I won't defend long call queues and the lack of a secure messaging system I'd suggest any bank that accepts "normal" email instructions is putting their customers at risk.

They won't discuss account specifics on Twitter either, and the fact that emails aren't safe for discussing account specifics remains.

OK to clarify, when I said "email" that also encompassed "secure messaging system". All the banks I have accounts with have one of these, but not Tesco.

I guess I wouldn't buy bananas from Halifax.....

Perhaps you should consider switching to another provider (if you can find one) who offers all the things you want, rather than using one that obviously doesn't meet your needs.

I am using Tesco just to setup DDs for my Halifax account to qualify for the fiver.....

There aren't that many other accounts that will allow that - already have the post office one.

But this is an issue Tesco should address.
