This is on Orange for 200 minutes each month with a years contract. The offer is 11 months free so you end up paying £30 for the whole year!!!

BTW Does anyone know if I can port my number to a pay as you go non orange, take the deal and then port the number back to orange when I order the new contract? (I am already on an orange contract and they will not price match these amazing deals so I would have to take out a new contract and lose my number :()

  • Yes - you can port to a PAYG and back to Orange - Virgin is usually the quickest for this. To reduce this price further - through E2Save go through Rpoints (cashback for referrals) and get a £12.50 in Rpoints or get a referral for E2Save from the referral board and split the cash.

Yes, should have no problems in using your own link (money4me ?) to purchase
(but they seem to pay up the cashback sites/ affiliates quicker/ reliable than on their money4me program)

  • No - you cannot refer yourself (CORRECTION - Payless knows more than me - wouldn't be hard) - Rpoints will give you £15 so brings the cost down to £15pa. Get a referral for Rpoints (presuming you're not a member) and get £5 introduction.

Mobileshop may still have this offer for £0 over the year...

EDIT - Only 100 minutes, but it's a cheap way to get a phone!

If you can cut the tariff at 6 months without damaging the cashback conditions, the deal cost will end up negative. Then get another deal and have 2 phones on the go. Switch every 6 months, not yearly.

With Mobileshop and Carphonewarehouse they do not let you do this. I'm not sure of any other companies, but I'd imagine most of them have this clause into the T&Cs.

So which companies can you lower your contract tariff and still receive cashback?

I'm not naming the present one until I've double-checked it, as the six months is near, but they were adamant at the start that it would not affect it. And a different one over a year ago was fine, but they tend to do less cashbacks now, but add on other gifts; I can't imagine they would ask for half a PC back 8 months later.
