.
Did those diaries show where the 'lead in his pencil' went?0 -

Ahhh these are all so funny. Unfortunately we've only bought a new build so don't have any funny stories.
However when my grandma died, she left behind about 20 trillion of little glass ornaments. It filled an entire spare room. My in-laws were in charge of cleaning the house out ready to sell, but they seem to have 'forgot' about the little room until they received a rather panicked phone call from the EA who had gone into the room and almost caused a tidal wave of tat.
God forbid whoever buys our house when we eventually sell though, they will find some beauties in our veg patch. My sister used to breed hamsters and, having no garden of her own, used our veg patch as a cemetary. There is probably about 15 hamsters in there now, some of which were buried in their houses.0 -

In a previous property, the vendor left a garden shed full of c*ap. However, there was a bag containing panels from a dismantled stained glass window.
When I got a stained glass window repaired at my partner's property, I offered the panels to the repairer who gave me a discount because of them - he said the style of the glass pieces in it were quite rare and would come in handy.0 -
In the lounge they kindly left a large wooden bench seat affair - apparently an 'Indian bed settee' It was a ridiculous size for a small cottage lounge. No one wanted to buy it (or even be given it) and I couldn't work out how to get it out - they must have taken the b* doors off to get it in
. Eventually someone sawed it up in situ ).

I found a wooden artist's easel in the attic of a house I bought in 1997. Oddly enough, I'd left one in the attic of a house I'd sold years earlier. They say what goes around comes around.0

I inhertited a loft with a few boards, full ashtrays and an old trainer if i remember correctly.
Few doors down about 6 years ago, the 'babe' of the street disappeared overnight taking just her 4 kids with her (unpaid rent it turned out). I knew one of the council clearance guys and along with old furniture and a knackered TV she left behind over 30 pairs of high heels???0 -
Our house was strip empty of all light bulbs, curtain rails and carpets, except for the !!!! soaked carpet in the bathroom (thankfully the mother-in-law removed that and cleaned the floor below with enough bleach to kill any germs and smell).
Then in the loft there was a bird cage, an old tv aerial and an old christmas tree.
The previous owners didn't leave anything buried in the garden, just the builders of the house left the large concrete slabs from the prefabs that were there before our house was built underneath the gardens.Zebras rock0 -
Update a week on and I still have an uncollected Portacabin and an escaped hamster!
No word on when the Portacabin is likely to be removed
Can hear the poor hamster scratching in the middle of the night still, but sadly it is coming from the far end of the eves (behind converted loft room) and there is no way we can get anywhere near it - no floorboards! Trap cage left with some food for it by previous owner but the food is still there so guess he must be stuck0
