advice needed please

Hi
I hope you can help
my dh had been bidding on a van on e-bay we had checked all was ok first it ended today and the reserve was not met someone out bidded my dh in the last 10 mins
14 mins later they had second chance offered it to my dh saying the winner had not been in touch and now he is not sure what to do as I don't feel it's fair that they have not given the original winner chance to respond it all seems a bit odd to me
hope you can help
thanks
pam

Are you sure that's the right auction number? The auction hasn't ended yet.

Ah, seems you have given the wrong auction number !

Looks like shill bidding but with no user ids to check against you could never be sure, if you feel you want the van offer your last highest bid before bidder number 9 got involved, however bidder 4 and 8 could also be a bit dodgy as they have no feedback either. best walk away from this one I think ;)

Even if it's shill bidding... it's not shill bidding on the auction OP won

Looks like the seller of the item has added it as a BIN for the Op to purchase, but its odd as it doesnt show up as for sale by the seller and i can only find it via the number given above,

Ok, I'm up to speed now.

TBH the very fact that they gave the winner next to no time to arrange to collect rings very big, shilly bells with me. Someone offered me a 2nd chance offer within minutes of an auction end once - the reason was very unconvincing, and I told them so.

If in doubt, report it for shill bidding and let ebay decide if it was.
