3) If my claim to the Austrian CAA fails,
It is not so much that it fails...a common tale with CAA tends to go like this- Wait 6 months+ for a response
- CAA find in passenger favour and tell airline they should pay up
- airline ignore CAA
- nothing CAA can do to force situation
- passenger resorts to court action (after many wasted months)

Hi 111KAB and Caz 3121, I appreciate your knowledgeable input! I'm going to give my brain a rest for a few weeks, to give NEB a chance to respond. I'll then try and track down an Austrian NWNF company, as I'm going to stay with Austrian friends anyway.0

Dear friends,
Having read a lot of information on this website I have decided to ask for help.
Having been writing to Austrian Airlines for years we have finally had their response that since delay took place more than 3 years ago there is nothing they can do.
I have followed this link recommended by moneysavingexpert for claims from Austrian Airlines to see if we still have a chance to get compensation but the day of the flight part only goes back 3 years.
I understand that since delay took place more than 6 years ago court is not an option for us.
Is there anything else we can do? Its such a shame as we were on this case straight away but they have been fobbing us off with all sorts of reasons (which we have proof of) all these years.
Thank you in advance for all your suggestions!0 -

after 6 years the airline can happily reject your claim or ignore you are, as you have noted, there is nothing else you can do.
You would needed to have started court proceedings within 6 years of the flight0 -

Or just 3? If the latter then you can still legally make a claim (in the UK anyway)If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

The flight delay took place in 2009. I guess we should have gone to court earlier. I thought we had 10 years to resolve it. We lost a lot of time trying to communicate with Austrian Airlines directly.

There are some references to linked forms in this thread, but I do not seem to be able to find anything for Austrian Airlines.

(replace the first space with a dot and the other two---with forward slashes, /, I cannot have links in my posts as a new user)
does not accept Austrian as a valid airline name.

Been trying to get sense out of Austrian for a couple of months now.
Story is that I was flying back to Manchester from Tel Aviv, via Vienna & Munich. The flight from Vienna to Munich was cancelled due to a technical fault, which meant I didn't get to Munich, and didn't get to Manchester that evening. I ended up staying overnight in Vienna and returning to Manchester the following day via Frankfurt, eventually getting in roughly 19 hours later than intended, and missing a day's work.
Read Vauban's guide, and used Austrian's own form to file for compensation for the events, plus some expenses incurred (usb cable & power adapter so I could charge my phone from my laptop, some food in Frankfurt as there were only snacks on the alternative flights).
Keep getting automated responses... Anyone had any luck? Anyone got any suggestions?
I'd have tried resolver, but it doesn't find Austrian...0 -
The ADR provider for Austrian Airlines is SOP, link here...
