  • I don't understand why people have to express their negativity at my purchase. I am happy with my Lexus and that's all that matters. If someone else bought a car that they like, I would not comment in a judgmental or negative manner, subtlety attempting to attack their purchase.

I didn't come here for advise on whether I should buy this car, I had already made my decision.

As long as you're happy. So is that 51 plate supposed to have meant something? Assuming that's the actual car you've purchased of course?

If it is, looks nice in the pictures.

But is it allowed to overtake?

If you check the pic of the back of it you can see for a certainty where the Toyota designers blatantly took their inspiration from.

I had a colleague who bought one of these so-called top-of-the-range Toyotas and refused to believe it was a Toyota until it was pointed out that most of the parts under the bonnet have the Toyota logo on them.

Anyway I hope the OP enjoys driving what many consider to be a poor man's BMW.

    I actually like Toyotas.

Luckily, as we all know, he also has a "REAL MAN's" BMW.
  • As you said previously you got the private sale price for the Yaris. You've still paid a lot for a mid range IS.

I don't think I paid a lot for a top spec IS. It's low mileage and has full service dealer service history. The private market would sell the car of this spec at the same price. It's just how much Lexus costs.

A colleague had purchased an IS 250 it is a nice car, he came from a 98 Passat, the IS250 has a whole host of standard features, but he says the Passat gives the nicer drive.
  • Don't rear wheel drive cars often have issues with British winters?

  • So come on OP, tell us the story of the 51 plate, we're all dying to know.

Please can you tell me a Toyota in the UK market that shares the same transmission, interior, chassis and engine as the IS250?

Yes there are newer Camry's in the overseas market that would share many of the same components of the IS250 but the Camry is Toyota's flagship 'luxury' car and it isn't that cheap when buying new.

Don't drivers of rear wheel drive cars who insist on running with summer tyres all year round often have issues with British winters?

    There corrected it for you.

    And the answer is yes.

Which is why I change wheels when the clocks change.
