MyOvo Monthly Statements

Out of interest, is anybody else having problems with Ovo's automated monthly statements? For the second month running, I am having to chase Ovo to update MyOvo account. Last month's excuse was 'it failed to generate'. The My Transactions page is still a mess after 2 months and I confess that I am not sure why they bother with it. All that is needed is an accurate and on-time statement.

Thanks. It will be interesting to see how long it takes them to sort it out.

Mine was a mess for the first couple of months -but it was all put right and now is spot on.:T I tried to submit figures too near to the month end in May and it threw a wobbly - they had to manually generate a statement and the transactions page ended up with several credits and debits which didn't equate to the balance!
  • My OVO gas is subject to a "read dispute". OVO tells me that "the industry" (as they call it) has assessed my reading at 2000 points higher than it is. Whoever is to blame, I have paid my direct debit for six months but my usage still indicates zero. OVO forgot about registering the counter-claim. I think that we can say that the transfer from British Gas to OVO did not go smoothly.

Not good - but presumably you will not lose out providing the opening and meter readings were the same? I am still waiting for a response from Ovo. I am beginning to wonder whether their recent customer growth is causing the Company some problems?

  • OVO is unusual in that it has a very good front office. On the customer infterface it is slick, speedy and polite. I rather feel that it is struggling with back room processes. My gas account has been in "no man's land" between British Gas and OVO and I have been told that it may still take 17 weeks to resolve. The "read dispute" is all gas industry twaddle because my gas usage pattern has been established over 20 years with little year-on-year variability.

Were the letters IGT mentioned? They told me 17 weeks when I had a readings dispute between EDF and Ovo. In the event, I got my first electricity bill in Apr and everything was sorted out 2 months later. Twenty four hours on, and other than an acknowledgement, no response to my query from Ovo CS.

Yes most likely as with all businesses who have an influx of new customers they'll be playing catch up with getting their staffing resources (and IT infrastructure) upgraded to meet demand.

Its only a matter of time before they turn in to Npower :rotfl:

It has been confirmed to me that there is an issue when customers submit multiple readings. As my statement date was on a Sunday, I gave them Friday, Sunday, Sunday and Monday readings just to make sure that I got an accurate bill. Apparently, their IT system cannot cope with this and it blocks the statement from being generated. It was suggested that I switch to On Demand statements via My Ovo. I have poured over the My Ovo webpage and I cannot find a link. CS was unable to help.

Edit: Found the link on the profile page.

They said this: "Your gas is being shipped to your home by an independent company which means that the validation process is not automated; it involves human beings manually agreeing and passing on the information. Due to this the process can take up to 12 weeks to get the reading back. Once we have it back we will update your account and you will receive your first statement."

So I put into Google, independent gas +igt, and it comes up with Independent Gas Transporter. So it is related to IGT.
